It all started before 10 00 a. M. When the suspect, a 32yearold canadian named michael zehafbibeau, a petty criminal who had recently converted to sclaum, alleislam, alleged bye walked up to the National War Memorial with a rifle, shooting and killing trooper nathan cirillo. Who was guarding the site. The shooter, his face half covered with a scarf. Raised his hands in triumph. Bystanders trying to resuscitate him, but he later died. Minutes later, gunfire echoing through the halls of the parliament bidding right nearby. This video captures the chaos. Lawmakers and reporters, scrambling for cover, barricading themselves inside of rooms. The Prime Minister, Stephen Harper whisked to safety. Reporter cormic mcsweeney was on the phone with his editor when the chaos erupted. I dont know. Theres a bunch a bunch of gunshots. A single guy came in with a shotgun. Canadian officials this morning are calling michael zehafbibeau a terrorist. Records obtained by abc news, he had minor criminal convictions for drugs and robbery. And told canadian news outlets they blocked his efforts to travel to syria to join isis. As Stephen Harper reminded canadians in a nationwide address, this terror attack is the second in three days, targeting canadian soldiers. Fellow canadians, in the days to come, we will learn about the terrorist and any accomplices he may have had. But this weeks events are a grim reminder that canada is not immune to the types of terrorist attacks we have seen elsewhere around the world. Reporter it was just monday that another young canada with ties to isis and had his passport revoked was shot dead in quebec, after he used his car to run down two canadian soldiers in uniform, killing one of them. What took place is clearly linked to terrorist ideology. If that happens, a warning to keep riders out of the passenger seat. And now another 3 million cars, moving the total up to nearly 8 million vehicles, that urgently need defective air bags replaced. Those numbers keep changing, and the federal Safety Agency is telling consumers to use its website to see if their car is affected but that site isnt working. This is the same agency that didnt get the gm ignition switch right. Now they dont even know what the story is on the takada air bags enough to tell the public and protect the public. Its terrible. Reporter these air bags made by the japanese company, takata, were recalled last year, but the ten carmakers and government are now saying, the problem is worse than expected. Its the inflater, the cannister, exploding so fast it can send metal shards flying. Safety advocates say four deaths are linked to bad air bags. You believe that your bentley did not work, right . Yes. Reporter goodman testified he was on his way to wendys to buy a frosty, and the last thing he remembers is trying to apply the brakes. Reporter the prosecution claiming goodman was drunk at the time of the accident after working up nearly a 300 tab partying at the swanky players club. You ordered 18 drinks at the players club. Yes. Reporter goodmans defense also calling a medical specialist saying he was disoriented not because of the amount he had to drink but because the crash likely cave him a concussion. Any time your defense is my bently famalfunctioned, thats tougher. Thats tough. This is the second trial. He was convicted the first time. He testified the first time. Hes got to convince the jury in a way he didnt the first time. Hes added a couple things to the testimony. For example, saying he pumped the brake on the bentley. Reached for the emergency brake. Things he didnt mention in the first case. So thats changing here. I think theyre hoping that the jurys going buy this story this time. But the heart of this case still comes down to the question of, how did he get drunk . He says it was in this man cave after the incident occurs. Prosecutors are saying no, no, you had 12 to 13 drinks before you got into your car. Were also seeing, hes admitted that he has a speech impediment. We have seen that on the stand. Why is that such an important point . Because the defense wants these jurors to believe that the first witness who saw him after the crash said he seemed like he was slurring his words, it wasnt slurring. But it was stammering, it was a speech impediment. And youre seeing that on the stand. One of the key things for the jurors, do they believe it . A neuroscientist accused of killing his wife, allegedly poisoning her with cyanide. This morning, Opening Statements are about to begin in the trial of dr. Robert verrante, the university of pittsburgh neuroscientist charged in the death of his wife, neurologist dr. Autumn klein. Seen here in a video produced bit discovery children. This is all very monochromatic. I just images that represented something to me. I did this image that i found somewhere. This is like three circles of my girls and sort of all of us together. Okay. X marks the spot above my bed. Okay. I wanted to show you this, this is a way to do something. Painters tape is the best. Put the painters tape on there and paint it right up. And it enables to have the clean edges and the painters tape comes right off. Its magic. I have rolls of this stuff. Its fantastic. Easy, get the canvass at the Home Improvement store, you dont have to go black and white. You can paint the canvas a color and do it in the white by using the painters tape. Really fun, easy tricks. Exactly. Talk to me about tile. You can find remnants at Home Improvement store. Tile is intimidating to people. You think that you need to hire someone to lay the tile. You dont. You can do it yourself. Tile comes in so many different, beautiful options now. In my house i used sea glass and glass tile. But this is so beautiful and affordable. And its easy to do. I was looking on the back of this package. It literally gives you directions on how to lay tile. This is like a big sticker. Yeah. And this ones a sticker, even easier. And then just add the fill grout. You fill it. White grout which is more traditional, or gray grout. Dont go with white. Go crazy. White is hard to clean. Gray is the new white. Just declared it right here. I love this too, a little bit of chrome, modern feel. Tile it up, tile a table top, a wall. And finally, last but not least, nobody thinks of the medicine cabinet except jennie garth. Tada. Tell us what you did. This is just something that you can actually buy intact, this whole piece and put it in your wall. You cut out a space and pop it right in. Its the easiest thing ever.
