Two officers on foot patrol tried to contact a group of men. The group ran off. One man turned and started to fire at officers. The two officers were not hurt and did not return fire. Police say they have seen a steady increase in attacks against officers. We are concerned about the climate and that something has been lost and the concept of law and order. Its very near and dear to our hearts when the officer is tragically shot down and murdered. Reporter the suspect is described as a hispanic male in his 20s, six feet tall, 180 pounds and last seen wearing a black and white flannel shirt. Earlier tonight, we heard the Police Helicopter circling above, still looking for that gunman. Police here are out on foot, as well, searching for that person. If they catch him, he could be charged with attempted murder of Police Officers. Reporting live in san Jose Marianne favro, nbc news. A man shot and killed a deputy. Investigators are calling it an execution. This is a picture of dennis wallace. He was responding to report of a suspicious van at a fishing access area when the shooting happened. It turned out the van was stolen. When confronted, he shot wallace at point blank range. We believe that Deputy Wallace was killed outside of the car. We know for a fact the gun used in this crime was in direct contact with his head when the trigger was pulled twice. This is an execution. Another deputy responding to the scene found wallaces body. David machado was captured hours later. Wallace is the fifth officer to die in the line of duty in the last five weeks. For the First Time Since the election, donald trump sat down for a Television Interview to discuss his plans for the presidency.
