There lots of briefings that you have when you go into the white house about preserving any email that you have, making sure its part of your official account. I think its something that theyre going to have to explain in good measure today and probably figure out how to get a lot of those emails, as many as they can, back. It provides a lay up for her critics who say this is all about a lack of transparency as she prepares for a run in 2016 that you cant go back and look at those emails . I think theres no doubt. I think this is another one of the things that the Clinton Campaign such as it is will have to explain. After the interview and the cease and desist letter from the American Academy of dermatologist, he took down the reference of him lecturing at the conference. It sounds like a lot of women are being overmedicated and overprescribed medicines to deal with something that is biologically natural which is mood swings. Right. I think, you know i have been a practicing psychiatrist for 20 years. When i first started, women would come to me can severe symptoms and not knowing whats going on. Now, theyre coming to me and asking me which medicine should i take . My friends are taking this and the whole dynamic has changed where more and more women are getting medicated and creating a new normal. They are at odds with the natural and hormonal fluctuations. We were designed to be dynamic and cyclical and moody. Now moody is kind of a pejorative word. Explain what you mean from a medical standpoint that our mood, our hormones ebb and flow. They do naturally ebb and flow. And theyre really designed to be adaptive. Women are, and we cant i mean, these are generalities. Not all women. Many women are emotionally receptive and sensitive. Were sensitive to our environments. We can know what people are feeling and know whether we are in danger. So these are, this is a strength. Something adaptive that can help us survive. Its not something to be medicated away. The book has some good tips. I want to go through a few of them. First thing you say is have a diet that is heavy on protein and light on carbs. How does that help . You want to do an antiinflammatory diet. Theres a lot of evidence now that if youre in an inflammatory state, youre more likely to be depressed. An antiinflammatory diet is heavy on vegetables plants fruits and nuts. Beans, lean proteins. You try to avoid the bread and pasta and rice and potatoes and sugar and flour and sometimes dairy. Those can create inflammation and lead to obesity and depression and irritability. Spend at least 20 minutes jute side every day and not with the sunglasses on. A couple of things with the sun. You need vitamin d to make serotonin. Thats one of the things correlated with feeling happy and relaxed. Low vitamin d levels are more likely to lead to depression. You get vitamin d from the sun. And the sunlight itself has antidepressant effects and used to treat annual affective disorder. Sleep is crucial. How much should we be getting . Somewhere between seven and nine hours, believer it or not. I encourage my patients between eight and nine. The problem with being sleep deprived is a setup for depression irritability and anxiety, but also obesity. Try get cardio. We talked about women being overprescribed the medicines and for many, many people they are necessary. How do you know which category you fit in . There many who need them. If you are depressed more days than not for at least two weeks and its affecting your sleep, your appetite your energy lefrl, you need to at least talk to a therapist. And you and the therapist can figure out if you need a psychiatrist to describe these medicines. The problem is that gps and family practitioners and internists are prescribing the antidepressants. Usually movies become dated in some way, but the fact that it all takes place in one room. We only had one outfit to it somehow ends up making the movie a little less dated. The dancing sequence is the only moment. I was going to tell you i have seen women at weddings and parties when you are on the landing of the stairs. Looking very serious. I see that still today. There it is. A little running man. My daughter can do it. She can pull it off. That stands the test of time. I think we have the moves.
