A man from Bethel Island died. Authorities say larry meal jr. Of antioch turned himself in over the week. Police believe he was the shooter and that he knew the victim. This 2 1 2weekold boy is undergoing testing after he was left abandoned in a strip mall parking lot. The infants father has since been arrested. Video shows the sunset mall parking the lot. Several people in the barbershop saw this unfold. I walked over to the parking lot area. The baby actually was found right here. You have a Fire Department a block away. Its not a crime to drop your kid off if you cant handle it. Police say they arrested the father, an 18yearold, after he got into a hitandrun crash later in the day. Police dont believe the mother of the child was involved. A new plan to bring more water to the south bay is taking another step forward. Kris sanchez joins us live to explain the proposal for a New Reservoir and why not everybody is onboard, kris. Good morning. Reporter good morning to you, sam and laura. This is a reservoir that would hold more water than all of the county reservoirs put together. If you look on your screen we put together a map to show you where the proposed site is. If you road trip down south you have passed on highway 152 south of gilroy. It would be the first in 60 years. Were talking about 130,000 acre feet of water, enough for 6 0,000 people a year at an estimated cost at this point of 800 million. Now you may remember this site this winter, water flowing out of Anderson Reservoir and that raises the question for the head of the sill valley Taxpayers Association which is why does the county need a New Reservoir when the district wasnt even filling the ones that they have. They are currently draining water out of the current reservoirs so theyre saying they need more capacity but theyre currently draining water. So it seems to be at odds with one another. Reporter the Water District acknowledges that its customers would foot some of the bill. Tonight the board will take the first step toward applying for prop 1 funding. You might remember prop 1 which california voters passed in 2014 which set aside a half billion dollars for water quality, supply and infrastructure. In Court Documents a retired neurologist says videos recorded by jahis family over the last three years show shes still alive and that her condition has improved over. In 2013 a medical procedure at Childrens Hospital in oakland left jahi in a state that doctors describe as an irreversible coma. After a public battle the hospital and doctors who wanted to remove the teen from life support her family moved her to new jersey where state law allows for the family to continue medical support. Happening now its back to the workshop for a couple thousand hover boards. Theres a recall that affects about 2,800 irover hover boards. The south bays google reported profits monday afternoon. And the ceo of the company that makes roomba says the newest version is capable of mapping your house and then sending that mapping data back to roomba. The sceo tells reuters hes willing to sell that information to other companies. Now roombas can only figure out a couple things, how big your rooms are and how much furniture you have, but they are apparently spying on you in that sense. A coyote attack is warping people to warn everybody. It happened about five miles away from the Rancho San Antonio open space prehpreserve. They say while there have been more coyotes reported recently there has not been a significant increase in attacks. Snowballs owner says she hopes others can learn from her loss. People please, please, keep your animals in. Its devastating. Just a horrible waying to go. People who have lived in that neighborhood have told us for years they have never had a coyote attack. We did some investigating overnight, looked through our archives to see if anything like this has happened before in the area. We came across this video from 2015 a Mountain Lion cub i should say a Mountain Lion and her cubs roaming in the open space preserve. At the same time experts tell us its normal to see Mountain Lions in the area but rare to see a mother with her cubs in a residential neighborhood. Watch your animals. She says she didnt buy the tickets and told us she let capital one know right away. Capital one removed all the charges from her charge card except for one. And candace couldnt get them to remove the final charge. So she reached out to us for help. We contacted capital one and it reversed the charge plus accrued interest, a win of 216 to candace and gave candace a 25 credit as an apology. Looks like the troubles for Draymond Green tend to follow him in the offseason. I was able to gather some information on incidents involving green that date back to last season. This first video happened during the season last year in march of 2016. Thats green snap chatting a video of himself while speeding in his new bmw, reaching speeds of 118 miles per hour. That caught a lot of attention. And then fast forward a few months later after the warriors lost to the cavs in the nba finals in july of 2016. He was arrested for assault on a former Michigan StateFootball Player at an east lansing, michigan, bar. Green is a famous alumni and he reached a plea deal on had that case. And them in the same month, not too long before he went to the olympics, sent out an i inappropriate snap chat pic to his followers. At first he claimed he was hacked and then that he meant to send it privately. A man and woman are suing green for alleged assault and battery citing claims of physical assault, bullying and mising statements by green they say have severely impacted their lives. Happening today a grieving grandfather planning to announce a reward in the murder of his 19yearold grandson. The young man was found dead in East San Jose in march. He is offering this this reward because San Jose Police do not have any leads in the murder of his grandson whose body was found here a few months ago here in East San Jose. I did hear from San Jose Police who say they do not have anything new to report in this report. He plans to announce a 5,000 reward for any information that leads to the person who shot and killed his grandson, joseph. This was back on saturday, march 25. He feels like this is the only way to keep the in the public eye. This was the citys seventh homicide. He played for the 49ers, thats a youth football team. He was known as smiley according to his former coach because of his big grin there. He has been raised by his grandfather since etches an infant. The grandfather phoned the coach to let him know he was worried about his grandson getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. No matter what trouble he was in or what he was doing, he was a good teenager. Reporter his body was found around 10 00 in the morning on saturday, march 25th, of this year in East San Jose. If you saw anything unusual around that time or in the hours leading up to that discovery, the san jose Police Department would like to hear from you. Another shooting over the weekend that has the chp looking for a gunman. A man says he was driving along concord avenue on saturday night when another man started driving erratically. He says he tried to catch up to the driver to get his license plate but suddenly heard a gunshot and then the shattering of the rear window of his car. Almost like being at a shooting raining, just bang. It was right there and the whole car smelled of gun smoke. Thats how close the shot was fired. A life and death experience. The victim says the shooter was driving a White Mercedes with a tinted back window and paper plates. Now there has been a sharp rise in highway shootings as we report ed in the east bay over the last couple of years but the numbers might shock you. We looked back at our archives overnight and there will been at least 85 in Contra Costa County alone since november of 2015. 6 36. Happening today a burlgame woman accused of stabbing a man to death is due in court. Learning more about crime in the area. Police say mia smith stabbed the man saturday night. It happened at a just a block way from washington elling elementary school. Police say they knew each other but not how. Overnight we investigated the homicide rate in burlingame. This is the only homicide of 2017. The Police Department says there were no homicides in 2016. There was one in 2015. 6 37 right now on your tuesday. The Golden Gate Transit Agency has completed equipping buses with hightech security cameras. Reporting that old and obsolete cameras have been replaced on all 177 golden gate transit buses. That new system uses Wifi Technology that allows for re realtime video streaming and remote downloads for viewing footage wherever or whenever needed. Most of the 1 million price tag was covered by grant money. Lets check in with one of our cameras, the toll bridge camera. A disabled truck reported just you get to the toll plaza. Today the Santa Clara ValleyWater District will discuss building a New Reservoir to store more water in case of another drought. A proposed site is near pacheco pass south of gilroy. The proposed reservoir would hold enough for 650,000 people. It could cost up to 800 million. Tonights meeting is one of the first steps towards building that New Reservoir. Tough story to get to now. We have new details on the live stream of a deadly car crash that is casting a new and unfortunate life putting our phones first. A Central Valley teenager is Live Streaming on instagram as shes driving with two 14yearold girls in the car. They say she was drunk at the time. This is what it looked like after she crashed the car. That was her sister that was ejected from the vehicle. She kept streaming the aftermath live. At one point she reaches for her younger sister who was ejected in the crash and ultimately died. Hey, everybody, if i go to [ bleep ] jail you know why. My sister is dying. Well, that is a media ethics professor at Santa Clara University who believes if this story does not shock you there is something wronger who. Authorities arrested the driver, 18yearold Obdulia Sanchez at the scene. She is now charged with vehicular manslaughter and dui. The other 14yearold victim is still in the hospital. Mr. Gore will do a press junket meeting in San Francisco later this morning. The president is once again attacking one of his very closest allies. Scott mcgrew, hes attacking Jeff Sessions, a man he appointed as attorney general. One of our reporters in contact this morning with the new White House Communications director and is the president just trying to get Jeff Sessions to quit . He says, yeah, thats probably the case. The president tweeted this morning attorney general Jeff Sessions has taken a very weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes. Where are emails and dnc server and intel leakers. Thats the second day in a row that trump has attacked his attorney general on social media. Trump told the New York Times he never would have appointed sessions if he had known the attorney general would recuse him seven from the russian investigation. So that was one of many tweets this morning. Theres one positive tweet supporting john mccain who is returning to the senate after a cancer diagnosis. It will be a really nice day though weve been tracking the low clouds and the fog in parts of the bay area rolling across San Francisco and towards the inner bay we are going to see a nice clear view. As we take a live look outside from mt. Hamilton over the south bay as the sun rises and heres a look at a beautiful view of how the fog is being lit by the sun rise at half moon bay. It looks stunning this morning. As you get looking live in hayes valley in San Francisco and the sevenday forecast is up at the bottom of the screen. Some hotter temperatures over the next few days. Today is the day to get out there and get some yard work done or just spend a lot of extra time out there getting in a nice, long run. Temperatures reaching into the mid80s in morgan hills and 86 degrees in pleasanton. Ward up to 74. Well be at 63 degrees in daly city and the embarcadero a high of 65. Sonoma, expect a high of 83 degrees. So as you look out the window and youre starting out getting ready for the day it will be a nice day to wear something comfortable like some short sleeves and dont forget the sunglasses even though you may not be seeing that much sun where you are right now we will get a lot of that and also if youre planning on going hiking in the north bay, some of the hiking trails there, it will be mainly sunny starting out this morning but i think the best time to hike will be at 10 00 before those temperatures get uncomfortable. Some warm and breezy weather by 2 00 and then the winds kicking in by 6 00 this evening with temperatures in the upper 70s. At at t park if youre going to the giants game its going to be nice and cool out there again tonight. More clouds and fog. First pitch will be at 7 15 and well feel the temperature of 62 degrees and thenny winds and we may have some fog and drizzle going on by the end of the game, temperatures reaching into the upper 50s and speaking of fog, heres a look at whats happening. The marine layer has gotten deep ea er at 2,000 feet and well start to see the fog rolling right back in. I think by about 5 00 or 6 00 youll start to see the return of those low clouds and fog with temperatures over the next few days starting to warm up with the lack of fog. So were getting a little bit of a break today with some cooler temperatures. The same for the valleys. Its going to be a hot weekend. Check out those numbers. Well be up to 97 on sunday. And, mike, now youre tracking a new crash in san mateo . The volume is starting to increase. I dont mean dramatically but an appreciable change for the south bay which we will talk about in a second. Hillsdale and san mateo is where the crash is reported for northbound 101. A vehicle went off of the roadway after hitting the wall. No other vehicles involved and it sounds like its in the roadside ditch there. Youll see activity there. There may be a second crash but it does sound like very similar details so there may be another incident, more slowing there. As we look out and zoom to the rest of the the east bay it typically flowing through concord. Walnut creek and over here to richmond and berkeley. Your waze system maps out the south bay. We did see the biggest volume increase the last few minutes. 101 and 87 show all the slowing. Look at this crooked route and its mapped out for you. A man and a woman are accusing green of physically assaulting and bullying them and that lawsuit stems from an incident that happened about a year ago last summer when green was arrested for allegedly slapping a former Michigan StateFootball Player. Were expecting more at a News Conference later today. The discovery of a murder victim several months ago is prompting a new reward. In march someone shot and killed 19yearold joseph. Police since then have made little headway in solving the case. Later this morning the victims grandfather plans to offer a new 5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Big developments in a deadly shooting outside of an east bay Ice Cream Store. Authorities say that 19yearold larry miel jr. From antioch turned himself in over the weekend. He was wanted in a shooting that happened last wednesday outside of a Baskin Robbins in pittsburg. A man was killed. A 2 it 1 2weekold boy undergoing tests after he was left abandoned in a strip mile parking lot. It happened yesterday in suisun city. Police found Surveillance Video showing him leaving the baby at the sunset mall parking lot.
