The seventh missile test this year. The Medium Range Missile was launched from north koreas west coast and splashed down about 60 miles off the coast of russia. It was the First Successful test after a string of recent failures. Comes days after south korea elected a new president saying he wants to engage pyongyang and not ice late it. I think this was a message to south korea after the election and so what we are going to do is continue to tighten the screws. U. S. Military says it doesnt appear to be the type of missile that could reach the u. S. Main land but north korea claims that it is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Later this morning government lawyers will once again try to convince a federal Appeals Court to reinstate President Trumps revised travel ban. The ban would suspend the u. S. Rj program and Refugee Program and temporarily put a stop to visas for citizens from six majority muslim countries. One big question they will consider should past statements from President Trump and his aides be used as evidence that the ban specifically targets muslims. Right now Companies Across the u. S. Are learning whether their computers have fallen prey to a global cyber attack. Kpix5s anne makovec is live in our newsroom with the symptoms and the search for who is responsible. Yeah, the hackers have still not been identified. Its called the wanna cry virus and brought a halt to businesses late friday. Experts are concerned that the problem could expand as the workweek starts. The concern is that as employees return to work today and fire up their destops, they could fall victim to the virus that froze at least 200,000 computers over the weekend. The ransomware exploits a vulnerability in outdated versions of Microsoft Windows, locking down all of a computers files. The hackers then demanding hundreds of dollars to relinquish control of those files. Never seen anything on this scale. And our concern is the way in which this for the first time we have seen something that combines the ransomware with a worm functionality. So microsofts chief legal officer said sunday that the company is working to address the problem but also said that companies have a responsibility to update their systems and that governments must do more to proactively fight cyber threats. There is good news, a pair of Cyber Security researchers actually stumbled on a kill switch that appears to have stopped the spread of this virus, but there is concern that a new variant of this ransomware could show up today. Michelle. Good news and bad news. And what happens when you are hacked . Well, you know almost immediately your screen is frozen and you get a warning, red words on your screen and then at a demand of 300 for access to your files or the threat of having them permanently deleted. The infection on one computer can apparently trigger the infection of an entire network. Kenny. Thank you.
