But that hasnt stopped tourists from coming. They are here to seethe 7 victor mansions known as the painted ladies not for love of architecture. We are looking for the full house to house and we wanted to see the park they hack out in. Reporter the show full house has gained cult status the final shot with the painted ladies in the background made this place a tourist destination. And even though the show has been off the air for more than 20 years its an image frozen in time for most visitors. So thats how people expect it to be. So leave it the way it is. Reporter but if you look closely there has been a change. Solar panels have been added to the roof of the first and oldest house on the block. This was a challenge in a sense that we had to get it through San Francisco planning and historical, the whole of alamo square is a historical district. Reporter the owner said it helped that the city is so pro solar and that most of the 16 panels arent visible from the park. He we got a phone call saying we want to install solar on historical landmark in San Francisco. Reporter sunrun got the contract and says the narrow staircases and pitch of the roof made for a tricky installation as workers suspended from harnesses like mountain climbers.
