Its been two years since joseph naso was arraigned on charges that he murdered four women, all prostitutes. The murders were all cold cases back to 1977 when the body of an 18yearold rogash was found west of fairfax. Her brother larry has been at the trial nearly everyday and says he would say these words to naso. Jump off a bridge go kill yourself. Hang yourself in the cell. Save yourself time and money. Finish it. Just get it finished. After the testimony of 70 witnesses, an introduction of nasos own selfincriminating writings and suggestive photographs, the jury spent about three hours yesterday and two hours today to find the 79 yearold guilty of murder in all four cases. The special circumstance of the murders make him eligible for the death penalty. The jury says naso also killed a 22yearold in 78. A 38yearold in found in 93 day. A 31yearold found in 94. All the victims first and last names have the same initial. Rogash says he came to the trial in memory of his sister and the other women, too. These are young girls. All of them were young girls. All of them forgotten. Havent seen a Single Family member since i have been here. Im the only one here. Reporter naso will get another chance to act as his own attorney when the jury returns to begin the penalty phase. Dong for those who didnt follow the trial, larry rogash, the brother had potentially threatened this whole proceedings. Can you explain. Reporter i dont think he did it intentionally. He put a sign on his car saying that naso murdered his sister. In another case he was charged with killing his sister. Twice the judge had to deal with that. They had to ask the jury whether they heard that message. The judge had to decide whether it was a problem. He ultimately decided it was not. Thanks, don. A grass fire near dublin is out, but not before it sent plumes of thick smoke. Alameda fire Officials Say the fire started around 2 30 this afternoon. Charred about 170acres around camp park, a Military Reserve training area. The oakland tribune says it was a spark from a smoke grenade that touched off the fire. No one was hurt and no property was damaged. Crews expect to be out there mopping it up until tonight. Wildfires are raging all over Northern California right now.
