Thats because the shootings happened at different spots. Now, federal officers shot one suspect in a parking lot of a walmart on north texas street. Were told Fairfield Police shot a second suspect across the street. And heres a look at the huge crime scene from the ground. We dont know what kind of injuries the two suspects have and there is no word yet on why police were after them. Streets remain shut down in that area. We have a crew on the way and well bring you an update when we learn more any minute now, one of the suspects in the Corruption Scandal involving leland yee could walk out of this jail in oakland after a hearing this morning in federal court. A judge allowed this man, Keith Jackson, to bail out. The alleged middleman in the scandal has been held in oakland since his arrest last week. His lawyer argued jackson was not a flight risk. In the end, it was jacksons mother who helped him post bond. This is the judge that heard all the arguments that was presented with the documents, presented with the sureties, his mother put up her house for him. Thats the kind of mother you need. Jacksons release was delayed this morning so prosecutors could appeal the decision to grant bail. We have our crew at the courthouse right now to bring you more as this story develops. A young father has been shot and killed in san jose. The family members say that eric mendoza went to move his car this morning. When he didnt return, it was his wife who found him shot and still sitting behind the wheel. The victims heartbroken family has a message for the killer. You made a big mistake. He is not something you thought he was. And you should be ashamed of yourself. Officers say there is Gang Activity in this neighborhood but his family says mendoza was not involved in gangs. So far no arrests. New questions tonight about a Fatal Shooting near San Jose State University. Library the family of a mexican day worker shot and killed by a San Jose State University cop asked for answers. They think if we keep it out of the media and nobody cares because he was undocumented, everybody is going to forget about it. Not everybody is. Reporter Antonio Lopez guzman was killed off campus allegedly wielding adrywall knife. An officer opened fire and a stray bullet went through the window of a nearby sorority. Witnesses told a different version of what happened but are afraid to come forward. Its a matter of time. The police dont have this witness. Why . Are they even trying to figure out . They think its going to go under the carpet. Reporter the shooting is still under investigation. But its the latest in a series of mishaps at san jose state that have students distracted and questioning their own safety. Its just hard to focus more on our studies because of all the i feel unsafe since there have been a lot of things that have been going on. And ian, earlier we were told federal officers were involved. Do we know what these men were wanted for . Reporter the crime that they say theyre wanted for was attempted homicide. This all happening around 2 45 p. M. Behind me, this is the second shooting. The scene of the second shooting at this apartment complex. Lets swing over to the left and that is the walmart. That is the scene of the first shooting. Federal officers were looking for this suspect who is accused of attempted murder. In the back of the walmart they found him. They say the suspect pulled out a gun, they opened fire. Now, so thats the first incident. About 30 minutes later they said, another suspect was located related to this attempted Murder Investigation at this is complex. They say that suspect pulled out a gun and then officers fired on him. Both taken to the hospital. Not sure of their conditions. The black car you see kind of behind that tree were told by witnesses here that that is what the suspect was driving. Were not sure yet if he if the suspect was hit in the car. We heard at least four shots, witnesses said at least four shots were fired. So it sounds like a combination of Fairfield Police pulling the trigger and then also federal officers part of a federal task force. Its actually what this investigation was, how long ago it happened, who was involved, were still trying to get those answers and as well as the names of the officers waiting to talk to someone from the department to get more details. But this pretty scary for a lot of People Living here. Theres a high school not far from here and this is in the middle of the afternoon 2 45 bullets flying in two separate shootings. So very busy day and actually the second officerinvolved shooting or third now in about a month. There was one earlier in march a suspect shot in the leg. Reporter judy levin of the center for Environmental Health explains many fabrics are naturally Flame Resistant so transitioning from chemical laider to chemicalfree can be cheaper for manufacturers. Manufacturers are trying to make it 45. Reporter Companies Like scandinavian design and others are selling flame retardant free furniture. There is no way to know. Reporter the label simply says your furniture meets the new fire standard but doesnt say how. Whether its saturated with chemicals or naturally fire resistant. Senator mark leno is proposing labels posted at the point of sale that would clearly state if chemicals were used. First the good news. Caltrans says 84 of california highways are in good shape. But many bay area drivers find that hard to believe. If they have done a lot of improvements to the roads, its hardly noticeable. I havent seen them get any better. Compared to our orinda roads, they are probably in good shape. Reporter thats the bad news. Many bay area city streets are nearing disrepair. Closer to the edge of the cliff than we are to the shady spot up under the trees. A pothole thats being formed. Reporter metropolitan Transportation Commission spokesman john goodwin showed us whats become our streets status quo. This isnt even the worst of t here are the bay areas worst of the worst. Vallejo, petaluma, orinda, lark sper, and worst of all, st. Helena. And larkspur. People are desperate for the roads to get fixed. [eevohn] iv we are learning more about the shooter in the fort hood rampage. Ivan lopez killed three people and wounded more than a dozen others before taking his own life. Investigators initially looked at his fourmonth deployment to iraq in 2011. But he was there as a truck driver. He did not see any combat. Apparently he was never injured. Upon his return, lopez did experience some Mental Health problems and sought treatment. There may have been a verbal altercation with another soldier or soldiers and there is a strong possibility that that in fact immediately preceded the shooting. All of the victims were soldiers and at this time investigators do not think that lopez was targeting anyone. Reporter Keith Jackson just walked out of the glen dire facility here in oakland. Release time was 6 35. He was greeted by a woman and two attorneys. Attorneys in the lobby. You can see the cameras surrounding Keith Jackson as he was leaving the glen dyer facility in oakland. We asked him if he had anything to say. He and his lawyers said nothing, maybe at a later time they would say something. But at this point, he is keeping his lips pretty tight about the charges against him. Now, the bond amount 250,000. Keith jackson and his attorney they were in court early why this morning facing a federal judge. The attorney was arguing that because Keith Jackson did not have any criminal history and also he doesnt pose a flight risk, that therefore the judge should allow him to be released on bail. They raised tens of thousands of dollars to help out a wounded veteran. Cbs reporter art barron on how a hollywood celebrity is rewarding them for that. Just blows me away how much they did hit the ground running. Reporter the 27yearold Army Specialist Gerald Hancock is grateful to these lancaster High School Students. They havent stopped. Reporter they are raising money to buy a new wheelchair friendly house for this wounded warrior. He is so deserving of everything. He deserves this house more than anybody. Reporter he has lived in this mobile home for the past 7 years and says its too small and its hard to get around in a wheelchair. Hancock a single father of two lost his left arm and was paralyzed in iraq after he was hit by shrapnel in 2007. It happened on his 21st birthday. Since may of last year, the students raised 182,000. The just want to say hello to gerald and his family. Reporter today, a big surprise via skype for the students and their nonprofit organization, operation all the way home. Its very, very, very impressive. You should all be very, very proud of yourselves. Give yourselves a big round of applause. Reporter actor gary sinese so moved by what the students are trying to accomplish offered his commitment to their mission. And were just stepping in to try to lend a little bit of a hand and were going to do this great concert on may 10. Reporter the Gary Sinese Foundation and lieutenant tan band which helps veterans announced his band will perform may 10th in lancaster at the stadium. All proceeds go to help gerald get into a new house with the Lieutenant Dan band. We didnt doubt they could do it but we had no idea it would go so fast. Reporter the goal is to raise a half million dollars. These students have taken an oath to fill 3500 seats by may.
