Would not let me take him out of the school and now he died in front of the school. Reporter tough to hear but his mom said they wouldnt let me take him out of that school and now he dies by that school. Maxs parents said that he con complained about the schools teachers and about lax security on campus even though there are nine Security Guards there on campus. The superintendent stood there speechless and took the lecture from that mother. Police are not telling bus a motive in this case. A student dumped out of his wheelchair by Security Guards is suing the Oakland School district. This Surveillance Video shows the incident from last may. The student 18yearold Francisco Martinez has cerebral palsy. The Security Guard was fired and now faces criminal charges. The School District has already admitted what happened to him was wrong. A bay area School District is making some sweeping changes tonight to address a recent uptick in student suicides. Reporter ken, the School District says its new schedule is designed to give students more time in each class and to lighten the daily homework load but some students say the current schedule is not the problem here. Some students have six classes every schoolday and a load of homework on top of that. Its part of the daily grind at the Prestigious High School known for its high achieving students. Gunn is definitely stressful no doubt. A lot of really high achieving kid a lot of success and pushing by teachers. Reporter that schedule may be out in favor of a rotating schedule with fewer but longer classes per day. Superintendent max mcgehee says it will not only lighten the load but it will also improve teaching and learning. Teacher i was talking to the other day said this is great, max. I can start the kids with their homework maybe 10 minutes early. That gives me time to work with a few that need extra help that i never had before. Reporter its the latest in an ongoing effort to address the topic of student stress and mental health. Student suicides have become more common in recent years. This year, there have been three. Hired guards are now on patrol at nearby caltrain track crossings 24 7 and the School District is spending 250,000 to hire additional Student Mental Health counselors. The students say the current Class Schedule is fine. The voices of concerned parents and teachers are overshadowing students. Im not exactly sure if our voices are being listened to necessarily. They will be very pleasantly surprised with the fact that they will be able to spend more time with each other and teachers and frankly not have homework in all six classes every night. They believe it started in january but dolan says a teacher only noticed a changed grade this week. It led to the questioning of one student which led to the questioning of another student and from those first couple students we were able to verify through them that in fact there had been a breach. Reporter eventually they say they discovered ambriz was the alleged ringleader. He is facing a felony charge of unauthorized access of a database. Police say there could be other arrests. Its under investigation. So if we identify that there was other there were other persons involved in this, then we will act accordingly. Reporter parents and students are left shaking their heads. They told us with this situation she had maybe three months. Reporter vanilla bean was transferred to the ucdavis veterinary Teaching Hospital where doctors confirmed the opening between her heart chambers was too small. Not allowing enough blood to flow. Vanilla beans blood vessels to her heart are small enough that they would not carry the devices we would need to perform a procedure. Reporter they had to get creative. In the process the cat lost a lot of blood and needed several transfusions. But ultimately, um, she is a really lucky cat because she came through the procedure and is now off all heart medicine. Reporter its now been four months since the remarkable miniature heart surgery and doctors say she appears to be making a full recovery. We have closed the deal where i had to pay them money to evict them but they are gone.
