This really has nothing to do with getting the Oakland Raiders a new stadium. It does, here is the bottom line, the last deal did not work. It is a political nightmare. One way or the other they have to pay the debt. They will do it this way to clear the decks for Revenue Bonds possibly to float a new arena. Taxpayers are paying for something that we already have in addition to not beginning the process of a new one. That will add more fuel to the fire. That is what will make this interesting. Meanwhile, in San Francisco we have a different story. The new arena looks like it could be a slamdunk. The board of supervisors approved the inviolable the environmental impact. Warriors want to open the arena in time for the 2018 season. Transit improvements around arena. A big change com clas the supervisor proposes a plan a plan because he does not agree with spending so much money on transit improvements around the arena. Again, there is a lawsuit pending, they are trying to open this in time for 2018, we know how the Legal Process works. For big projects like this you have one year to get it through the court system. I think from looking on the video he may have been on something. The idea that somehow he was charging, i i dont see the video showing them. What we saw he had his hands down so the idea is how do you actually allow Police Officers to know it is okay to prolong the situation and they dont have to act right way. You have to drop the level of the policeman spared themselves. If they are standing there and talking to a guy with a knife that is one of the questions, it is what is in between, right . Part of the challenge is there is a a mentality that from the moment a night is shown that a gun from the moment a knife is shown that a gun is strong. Beyond that i dont think we have figured out the right level of training to deal with a person with a knife. There is a study that shows the situation it is not being handled properly because in that situation you think a save in that situation you think a taser would have solved it . Maybe, even a taser could have led to a fatal outcome. People dont want to recognize the fact that we need to change the mentality of the Police Department. You have got to provide more training. The idea to have amd jail then build a new jail is crazy. But we should be building is housing. What we should be building is housing. A big percentage of the jail population involves people with Mental Health issues. A jail will not take on those issues.
