Security is beefed up nationwide this morning. There have been two suicide bombings in two days in a row. They are now responsible for kiing more than 30 people. Both attacks targeted transportation links in the city of volgograd 400 miles from sochi russia where the Winter Olympics will be held in february. Elizabeth palmer is in london. Good morning. Reporter good morning. The russian government anxious to show its taking bombings seriously has released video of the president and the Prime Minister meeting to discuss the response. Of course its the pictures of the terrorist attacks themselves going to grab the headlines. The first bomb went off in volgograds main Railway Station. The Security Camera caught the moment of the explosion. Witnesses say it was a suicide attack. Then less than 24 hours later, another bomb blew up a volgograd bus. No one has theyve been saying that 15 to 20 years. Everybody remembers the 2002 theater siege in moscow. And the school hostage taking two years later. But the attacks have continued. Mostly in southern russia. Just two months ago, a suicide bomber blew up a volgograd bus in an attack similar to this mornings. An hour plane ride from sochi where the Olympic Games are due to start in over a month. The situation is not under control. Its anyones guess whats going to happen at games themselves. Bush. Good morning. Good morning norah. We have this Second Attack over night. This is the most violence in terrorism any host state has experienced before games. How concerned should we be . U. S. Officials are growing more and more concern. We know russia has had terrorist problems for some time. The region thats produced the threat analysts in the u. S. And around the world are growing more concerned about the ability of russians to control security as we approach the olympics. The russians have been taking Extraordinary Security measures in sochi and around it. Is that leaving the more vulnerable just outside of it . Perhaps. Youve seen terrorists in the past talk about that. There are softer targets outside the site of the olympics where they could target softer regions. Youve seen from leaders the fact they want to bring maximum force and pressure against the russian state and bring instability of a sense of that to the olympics. Normally the United States and Intelligence Community cooperates closely with the host city during the olympics. There are strange relationships between u. S. And russia. How much is that affecting this. When you talk about tactical security around the will olympics areas fall to the short side. U. S. Authorities are work closely to make sure u. S. Athlete, sponsors citizens for the games are provided the maximum security. I think everyone now needs to be even more concerned act the terrorist threat thats reached the russian heart land and growing closer to the sochi olympics and affecting transportation hubs that are so important to the olympics. I want to ask you whos responsible. This attack sunday may have involved a woman, another attack in the same city back in october included a woman that detonated a vest of explosive killing herself and six others. Weve seen this in the past. In 2004 bringing down two airliners. Ironically one headed to sochi actually. Youve seen that in prior bus attacks two months ago in volgograd. Imagine looking at someones dna and say, wait a minute i know youve got leukemia but its more similar to what people have, for instance kidney cancer, so instead of treating you with the classic drug for leukemia, they treat you with the cancer drug and you go into remission. Thats a real case. That actually happened. With that kind of customization because of your understanding of your basic makeup your dna. Another prediction is the emergence of the digital guardian. Otherwise it could take half a year or a whole year to understand them. You see no more traffic jams. The key is the city should adapt to you, not the other way around. This is an important week if youre thinking of buying a new car. Many are racing to clear out their 2013 models. That means theyre willing to negotiate. Jim ellis is assistant manningageing director. December 31st is the best day to buy a car. First of all you cars that are going to be a year old a day later. Its going to be more difficult to sell it. The other thing is that youre paying interest what they call floor financing to keep the cars on the dealers floors. You want to get rid of those. The last reason is theres lots of incentives for dealers to unload things. Manufacturers have owe tas to sell for the year. Youll do almost anything to movie metal now. If im looking to buy a car now, what do i do. And he is. The first thing is look for a dale or someone who wants to sell. One good way to think about that is look who was open you know normally dealers arent open on sunday. A lot were open last sunday. Some are open on new years day. Theyre not open on holidays. Those are people who need to make a number. Those are places you should think about going to. There might be a Clearance Sale going on. Absolutely. Duh it matter about the redesign. You say if you buy it one year later, its older. If you dont change the design does that matter . So frustrating to buy the car and they redesign it. Models are going to be different like toyota high laernld where you know youre going to be unhappy if you start running there. Can you ask them are you planning a redesign. You can ask but most likely you should coyour own research on that. Theyll do anything to sell a car. Theyll tell you theres not much of a difference or theyre not in stock. You have to look at the internet. You can actually be a participant in this as opposed to someone who has to listen to anything a dealer says. Where do you stand on leasing cars . Leasing is good for some people. Its good if you really are not going to put a lot of wear and tear on a car or a lot of miles on car, but whats happened over the years is lesion used to have a fair number of miles you could put on on an annual basis. Now its around 10,000. Thats a significant difference. If youre a person whos a commuter or a mom who does a lot of things traveling soccer teams, wlaefr, youre going to have trouble staying turpd number and the penalties for going over are very high. If youre lucky enough to pay in cash when you buy a car, this is interesting, you said never let the dealer know you want to pay up front. Dont. Because the dealer is saying ill deal with you and make money financing the car. What you say is im not certain if ill going to finance or not. May. Liev him on the hook that maybe ill give you a good dale on the price and ill make my number on the referral fee. They make a lot of money on sort of handing over somebody on finance and also insurance. So they look at this as a way to grab and do multiple sales. Whats the biggest mess stake people make when going to buy a car . First of all they come up and say i want to pay they throw a number out there. If you throw a price out there thats the floor and youll be negotiating up from there. Never do. Make them come down to you, number one. Number two, you make a big mistake and say i want a car i want to pay 259 a month because they can then twist the numbers around. They can do things with your down payment they can doll things with the residual value of the car and they can make your number but it might not be the best deal for you. Twhamt to sell a car. Yeah. They want to clear inventory. Anthony, go buy a car that do you want to give me some money so i can go out and get one . Ill answer for her, no. Thank you, jim. Thank you, gayle. Youre welcome.
