Crews made over night and the people who were told they had to leave their homes. Tara. People from about 180 homes have been evacuated and going to two different red cross shelters set up here. We know out of now this fire is 30 contained. Crews are still battling it. 50 people did not make it out of their homes. They are still sheltering in place. Cal fire says it is confident they are are safe because crews created fuel breaks around the homes. At least five buildings have burned to the ground. Officials dont know if they were homes, barns, or out buildings. I have lost a home to fire before. So this is dont want to go through it again. Reporter the fire began around noon yesterday and quickly scorched hundreds of acres of wooded hillsides. The dry bone conditions and extreme heat added fuel to the fire. We dont know exactly what caused this fire, we are hearing reports that some young men started it while clearing weeds with power tools. Some say it is the driest summer they can remember. The red cross has set up two Evacuation Centers for people ordered to leave their homes. One is at middletown high school. That is on big canyon road in lake county. The second is at Pope Valley Elementary School in pope valley. There is extra security at Washington Hospital in fremont after components of a bomb were found inside the lobby. Ktvu sent out a security notice. Not many details on exactly what was discovered. The letter says the fbi and local Law Enforcement confirm they were components of a bomb. New this morning fire investigators in oakland trying to determine the cause of a destructive house fire. This was the scene moments after the fire started at 1 30 this morning near 105th avenue. No one was home at the time but firefighters say that intense fast moving fire gutted the home and forced the evacuation of the house next door. The fire was extinguished fairly quickly. We had one structure that was not burned. We are investigating further and performing overall. Investigators are expected to return to the scene later this morning. As they try to pinpoint the cause of the fire. Hayward police will start uses small video mounted cameras to record their encounters with the family. They approved buying the cameras that attached to an officers uniform or glasses and record video and audio. The cameras could help cut claims of officers using Excessive Force by as much as 50 . There was no public opposition to the plan. The police chief says wearing the cameras will be mandatory. There is growing frustration about a rash of car break ins at an amtrak break in.
