By socially transitioned we mean that they are children that are presenting and living every day. This is different from the gender people thought they had at birth and this means for example that someone they thought was a boy who calls himself a girl and she would be living presenting as a girl and using female pronouns. We found that children like the child i just described tend to have pretty good Mental Health out comes and this is pretty surprising given that pass research suggested that children that are gender nonconforming attend not to have good gender health outcomes. Reporter what has changed over the years to make more families feel more comfortable in speaking out and participating . This is a unique time and there were a large number of children that were socially transitioning at early ages. This is a critical time to do the study because finally there are such children and we did not know how they were doing in terms of Mental Health.
