I like a lot of them, i like that one too. Reporter peggy share it shares the collage that was displayed at his funeral. He died of cancer in 2013. He couldnt walk. Reporter richard was laid to rest without peggy knowing it was not the plot they purchased more than a decade ago. They had a big piece of turf out and a tarp and chairs, and it was a really hard day for me, so i didnt look at where they were burying them. I thought, you know, i trusted them that it was the right place. Reporter the records show richard, peggy, and her Brother Robert prepurchased several plots together back in 1999. The three plots were side by side. One for richard and peggy, one for robert and his wife, and one for another relative. Our intention was to be buried together for eternity. Reporter we trusted them completely. Reporter it wasnt until after richards death did peggy notice it was botched. After i went up there after he died to put flowers up there i noticed there was somebody buried next to him which was supposed to be my brother. Reporter she says it led to an upsetting admission by management. They did bury richard in the wrong place, but my brothers plots were where theyre supposed to be which is not true. Reporter it snow balled after that. Robert says someone else is buried in one of his plots, his spaces were shifted over. Peggys plot was moved four stays as way where hes spaces away where hes buried between two strangers, separated from the family. Time went on and Nothing Happened and nothing got resolved or said. No apologies, no nothing. Reporter the family is now taking legal action. It took us quite a bit of time to determine what happened. Reporter the Attorney Says she believes the mix up is traced back to the 90s when oakmont was selling plots that didnt correspond to where people were buried. In 2003 they tried to reconsolidate, and they sent letters to some of the plot owners, but not all of the plot owners. Reporter robert received a letter, but peggy and richard did not. They stressed the location of the plot didnt change, just the numbers. Reporter is it possible other people are buried in wrong plots . Its possible that people dont know that the plots that they had originally purchased were moved. Reporter we went to the Memorial Park in search of answers.
