Have stopped the attack. Neither would a wall. We will talk to top Trump Supporters on trumps response to orlando and the strategy to defeat clinton. Plus trumps relations with the gop go downhill. He is a different kind of candidate. As the lines in the poll, we will ask the sunday panel if he can can win while fighting his own party. Putting a fresh face on the people that built the country. A nation defines itself on those that created the history. You all right now on Fox News Sunday. Hello again and happy fathers day from washington. As the country warns the victims massacre, its how to prevent it from happening gain. In a moment we will discuss the at least on guns with lynch and then later with a key supporter keith sessions. But first the latest with peter from or lor lan do. Chris, exactly a week to the minute after the massacre the Church Bells Rang 49 times and one for every victim. Last night the or llando major soccer club p stopped for 49 minutes and left 49 seats evemp. Theyre not providing much details but a victim tells the news service that he remembers seeing mateen laying inside to hide from the police inside. On friday they interviewed a man it is mosque and a doctor listed as giving the teen to to psychological exam a decade ago that he needed to carr car wey for his job. What i do know is that in september of 2007 i was not living or working in florida. I was not performing any work and i did not administer any type of examination to mateen. Theyre coming together to honor the dead as funerals continued today. Orange county fire rescue made him an honorary member of the department. There are dozen s of heart breaking stories like that and 19 syringe tims remain hospitalized at Orlando Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Peter reporting from orlando. Thanks for that. Joining me now aattorney general loreta lynch. Welcome to Fox News Sunday. Thank you chris. Why is the wife of the orlando shooter not in jail. She went and knew that he was planning the attacks. Why not charge her . Well, were in the middle and yes were talking to everyone that had contact with this killer and that includes the family members. We want to know what they saw and said to them. The investigation is ongoing and we have no announcements at this time and were trying to decree y recreate the days and months and weeks before the attack and those that had contact with him to come forward and give us this information as well. New york city i know that youre going to orlando yourself on tuesday and that tomorrow the government will release transcripts of all akon tacts between the fbi and mateen when he was on the terror watch list. Any thing with they took him on and then off the terror watch list. Well, i am meeting with them and meeting with this Brave Community this lgbp community that was targeted in the ter theable act of hate and terror. What were releasing tomorrow and the transcripts of the phone contact between the killer and the orlando negotiators the nate of the attacks. It will be the transcripts of the calls. Its our goal to be as transparent with the investigation. With respect to the prior contact that we had with him, were going go back and look at that as well. Look at everything and transparent as possible and how it evolved and what departmented. The senate is set to vote on sunday and under a republican plan if someone whose on a terror watch list wants to buy a gun, the government would have three day skbs the sale is halted and the government would have three days to prove probably cause to a judge. Why is that not reasonable . Well, its the plan that would give the department fof justice two tools. First the fact that stop a sale if someone is on the watch list and then if theres litigation on that. People have the right tole challenge that and its the Constitutional Rights and it gives the ability to set the procedures in place to protect sensitive and classified information in the jute case appeal. Thats why were supporting the amendment that supports those. What about the 72 hour dead line that you have the to prove probably cause in 72 hours or the gun sale goes through . Well, we think of what gives us the most flexibility and if its challenged to protect sensitive and classified information. Those are the concerns that Law Enforcement has had about how to manage this very difficult and important issue. Do you know what the crickets say . That means that if if maximum flexibility that it will take weeks or months. It has 800,000 names on it and you know that some of them are on there and if youre going to take away someones constitutional rightings, dont you have to give them due process and prompt due process . Well, we have to give them both. We feel that what gives us the important tools, lets us do that. As you know that the Constitutional Rights has to be built into it. We have a very strong Law Enforcement interest in protecting the investigation that put people on the watch list or that maybe around the individuals, and so its very important to us that we have the ability to conduct this in a way that lets us protect the information. But is 72 hours too short a time . Well, we think that having enough flexibility is the best way to achieve that. It lets us determine if the sale should go through. We have to look at a person and make a factor faster than that. We may need more time. The American People deserve us to take the time that we can in an important decision on whether or not someone thats implicated in this matter should be able to buy a firearm. Of course, there has to be a redress and a way for people to challenge it. We also in the course of that need to be able to protect sensitive and classified information. On monday the day after the attack, donald trump said this. When im elected i will suspend immigration from areas of the world where theres a proven history of terrorism against the United States, europe or our allies until you fully understand how to end these threats. The next day you said this. We have to push back on the voices that pray on fear and that so division. Attorney general lynch, were you talking about donald trump . I was not talking of donald trump or any particular person but the fear that comes about that often leads people to react without thinking and react in fear. Sadly allows them to take the law in their own hands and target other individuals. I was talking about that climate that we have seen after so many of these attacks. Do you think that donald trump contributes to that . I dont have a comment on trump or any other con day. We have to keep our eyes on the victims of the and the lgbt is more the victims of hate crimes than any other recognized group. Thats a wide variety of sources. We have to push back on those voices that are speaking out now that are not supportive of that community. We have to make sure that this country is open and free and inclusive for everyone. Its not viewed as primarily a hate crime but a terror atachblth also this week the cia director john brennan says that isis is focused on launching attacks on the outside of the u. S. The group is supporting means for opportunities to the west you including and refugees, smuggling routes and methods of travel. Given that, is it unreasonable for donald trump to say shop and ban refugees from coming into the country . Well, what are we talking about when we say the terrible thing in orlando. This is an act on terror and hate. This is a person inspired by terrorism. Were trying to find out if motivations and everything that we can about what lead him to the path and what put him in the night club that morning with the firearm. Now, one of the things that we have talked about before is the concern on home grown extremist and individuals that consumed the radical ideology and then act on it. What were work on is making sure that our investigations pick up the individuals and also gather as much information that we can from the people that know them and citizen that are concerned so that we can intervene before the tragedy happens gain. I want to talk about one other subject with you. President obama endorsed clinton for president. Take a look. Im with her. Im fired up, and i cant wait to get out there and campaign for hillary. Now, youre a political appointee of the president. Does that create a conflict of interest for you . Does that make it harder for you to handle the criminal investigation into clinton when your boss is saying he thinks that she should be president . Well, i dont get involved on who the president endorses or comments on any of the candidates. The investigation into the state department is going to be handled like any other matter. You have Career Agency lawyers looking into that and they will follow that where it leads and come to a conclusion. Is this a conflict of interest for you . No, its not for me or anyone in the department. We will do the work the same way that we have for the American People first and foremost. The first day that clinton was endorsed, you met with the president at the white house. Did you any way shape or form discuss it with the president . We have never discussed the case. I have never spoken with it at the white house or the president. Thats not the relationship that i have with people and it would be inappropriate to do that. Pleasure to talk to you. Please come back. Thank you. Up next a key adviser to trump on the candidates call for president obama to resign and trumps plan to talk with the nra about gun control. Closing the stage this afternoon for auditions . Whats on that piece of paper . Oh, miss maroney, your forehead should not be doing anything. I just had botox. I know exactly whats happening ah whoa this is a bad streaming experience. The girlie show is a real fun lady show. vo dont let bad streaming ruin a good show. Dont look at me vo only verizon has the largest, most reliable 4g lte network. Can your network say that . Switch now, buy two samsung phones and get a free tv, plus up to 650 back. Only on americas best network. They are. Do i look smarter . Yeah, a little. Youre making money now, are you investing . Well, ive been doing some research. Let me introduce you to our broker. How much does he charge . I dont know. Okay. Uh, do you get your fees back if youre not happy . dad laughs wow, youre laughing. Thats not the way the world works. Well, the worlds changing. Are you asking enough questions about the way your wealth is managed . Wealth management, at charles schwab. A look the growing memorial in orlando. After that trump called on president obama to resign. Joining me now is the chair of president Obama National advisory, and sen is or the welcome back. Good to be with you. You just heard lynch defend the administrations on protecting the homeland. Your reaction . Well, i think that the whole Administration Agenda is in touch with realty. We have a very toxic group within islam and thats attacking the United States. We have convicted the charge and 580 people since 9 11 and all islamic terrorists at leathreat. This is a real threat to america. Obama will not even call it a threat. If he is not going to leave or be able to be a force for protecting the security, maybe he should step aside. Thats what he is saying. Youre not really serious, are you . He does not mean that he is going to resign or step aside, but you either get in lead or get oud of the way. Okay. I want to get to the other issues in a moment. I want to begin by drilling down on the guns. On wednesday trump tweeted this. Put it o up on the screen. I will be meeting with the nra thats endorsed me about not allowing people on the no watch list or terror list to buy guns . Yeah i think that its great to talk to to the nra and work out the language on this. Were so close to this issue, it ought to be able to be fixed easy. The problem is the democratic colleagues are pushing this to try to create an impression that guns were the responsible cause in the attack on orlando. Its what caused it and thats what seduced this man into doing this kind of thing. We can tighten up the law some, and its not going make a difference in the afternoon safety and people on the terror watch list should be denied the right to to bare a gun, but they should have a chance to protest that theyre wrongfully on the list. I think that its fair. Lets talk about it. Thats what i went through with lynch a couple of moments ago. The point and the amendment and the plan that is the republicans are putting up is that you have 72 hours to get the cause and prove that and satisfy a judge and democrats and you can hear lynch saying that we know need longer than that. Trump said yesterday that no one on the terror watch list should be able to buy a gun. He did not say anything about delaying for were an amount of time. He said that i would like to see that. Are you supporting trump on that . I am not saying that he would let someone get off the list if they were wrongfully put on it. I think lynch is comfortable to where im being. This pesh should not execute the constitutional right and you should not have to reveal too much of your internal data that could be compromised and the intelligence sources and i think that Something Like that could be worked out and that trump is a positive force. How they react after a tragedy like the orlando massacre and these people and inside of a o po potential president would be. I i want to ask you about some of the things that donald trump has done in the last week senator. First the comments the day after the tragedy that seemed to imply that president obama is sympathetic to the terrorists. He does not get it, or he gets it better than we understand. Were led by a man thats not tough, not smart or he has Something Else in mind. Question. Do you know what that Something Else trump refers to thinks that president obama has in mind . No, i dont. I dont know what he has in mind. I do believe that he is correct to raise the question and from going back since 2011 when we went through all of the troops in iraq and allowed isis to form and become an entity and it would not have happened otherwise. Forgive me. I just want to go through what trump said. He said either he does not get it or he gets it better than anyone understands and he has Something Else in mind. That certainly seems to imply that he is sympathetic to radical islam. No, i dont think that he means that but he is criticizing him, president bam for going too far and not understanding the threat. The president and clinton say that is she wants to go from 10,000 sir ran refugees to 65,000 and when the cia director you say that is we cant do bedding on that when we know that right now a team from the european leader are heading to europe to attack them from syria. We can not vet them because we dont have a background on them. Theres no way to go into their communities and check the records and the arrest records or the business records. All that we have is what they tell you. We know that cia director said that refugees provide an opportunity to enter the United States and do an attack. Then trump said that president obama should resign and clinton should drop out of the race because of their refusal or failure to say the phrase radical islam. Here is how the president responded to the that. Theres no magic to the phrase radical islam. Its a political talking point. Its not a strategy. Now, i understand the argument that cannot beat the enemy unless you identify them. Theres a component in this, but i think would you agree with the president that even if you say the names that the real key is whats your plan and whats your strategy to beat isis . Well, i dont understand the president s view on this at all. When donald trump went directly at can clinton on this for the first time she said islamic extremist or something to that affect. She has taken a defensible o position and of course thats what it is. Of course this is what the threat is. Its out there and its growing and cia director said that its going to to continue to grow even though that we have battlefield victory. The at least is threat is expan then trump accused american soldiers from stealing the millions of dollars that the u. S. Was supplying in the efforts in iraq and afghanistan. Here is trump. I want to know who are the soldiers that had the job because i think that theyre living well right now whoever they maybe. Now, the Trump Campaign said that they were talking about the iraq soldiers but he talked about the same thing last sa september and it was clearer than that he was talking of u. S. Soldiers and handing out in iraq and afghanistan. Well, we put a huge amount of of money and so much of it was wasted and abused and no doubt about it. Do you think that u. S. Soldiers were stealing it . No, not in general. Some have been convicted with the awbuse of that money. I do think that we have a big problem with the allies and soldiers in iraq and afghanistan. A lot of the money is fully spent and we need a top leader to tighten it up. We dont have any money to waste on corruption. Lets turn to the state of relation between trump and his own party. Here is what they had the say this week . I was asked about everything this week and that i disapprove of them time and time again. He is a different kind of candidate and this is a different time of the year. Im going to be myself andprinc now, trump said that they should be quiet and maybe run alone. Can trump run aside and apart and alone from the Republican Party without all of the infrastructure and the Field Organization that they based and fundraising operation that they have and that he does not have . Well, i think that were going to get the unity and trump has met with the leader. He has talked with the senator on the phone and then additional to the meetings and he is reaching out and let me give advice to the colleagues. They need to look at the election return. They need to understand that the American People are not happy with the grid lock in america. Theyre not happy that the wages have fallen since 2000 instead of theyre not happy that we have a high unemployment and they believe that we should have a lawful situation. They do not believe that the trade deals work for them. I believe that the leader on both sides need to be considering what the American People are saying in this election and they need to be apart of the unity too. Meaning . They need to be participating in assisting some of these things. We have not been fixing illegal immigration and the trade deal we have a lot of votes and support in the congress and then the democrats and republicans and then there are a lot of things to learn from the American People. Lets look at the polls and talking about the American People. On may 23rd after trump rapped up they had him tied with clinton and now he is trailed by six percent and by double digit. Senator with all of the controversies in the last month and especially going after the judge and the trump juuniversit case, how is is that the last few week sns. Well, i dont think that they did that. Its been a difficult time. People want the vote for him. He is correct on the issues, and i think it can improve over time. I just say is i remember former president senior and was down 15 points in august and then won with a huge victory, so i just think this is premature, but i would say to you the issue on what is going to work and what will work for donald trump is trade and immigration, jobs, grid lock in washington. He is going break that up and move that up. The numbers are going to move that way steadily and those are in the fall. Final questions. Some delegates to the convention are talk about changing the rules to make it so that no delegates are bound and that they can nominate someone other than donald trump. How seriously do you take that . I dont take it seriously at all. As many as 30 and 2004 delegates and trump has swepted the election and he had the biggest number of votes in the republican primary and drew more and then theres 2 million more votes than the democrats. The republican primary. Senator sessions. Thank you. Thank you for coming in today. Always great to talk to you. Coming up next bringing in the sunday group and how to protect the homeland. Plus what would you like to ask the panel on the focus on gun control as a way to stop Mass Shootings . Going to facebook or twitter and Fox News Sunday and we may use your questions on the air. As a result isis is under pressure. Despite the progress on isis, our efforts have not reduced the capability and global reach. President obama and cia director with different assessments on the threat of isis in the wake of the orlando act. Its time for the sunday group and fox news breat and amy walt ter and fox news political analyst williams. That was a stunning predictions that you had on tuesday. The president was talking about significant progress against isis and then the very next day you you had the cia director testify identiand saying that t rolling back and were killing some of their people. So at what the cia is saying is that the policy and practice that they have put into place is not working. The threat is growing. The president would never never say that. You put that together with the argument about the use of the term radical islamist terrorism and the refusal to use it, and this is a point of vulnerable for the administration. In the moment when the president s approval rate was rise asking thats a help to his parties candidate and in this case clinton. In this attack i think its for the time being and then in the game changer and then its thrown the administration and then the it hammers that home. Were going to goat the political aspects os f that and then the substance of that and then all of the talk about the immigration and gun control and we will get to those in a moment. Is it the best way to stop the terror attacks and win the war on isis . Well, i think thats part of it. If the United States is killing off a great number of leader of the terror group and then you cut the territory, like we saw them pushing out of and theyre relying on the strategy and its expanding in nigeria and relying on social media to spread the cancer ideology. Thats an issue issue there and then excuse me that they can rely on the refugee flow and then their own world attacks. So this is a different set of issues. You can wipe them out in term of their presence and iraq, but the presence approximate in africa and presence on social media that remains even if you beat them on the battlefield. Well, we would like to know if they were beaten on the battlefield. They have not been beaten and the territory and headquarters remain secure as far as we can tell. So the question that is raised by all of this is how inspired would omar has been . Well, theyre saying to people dont come into the battlefield anymore because were losing. Instead engage in the loan wolf attacks. Let me turn to another aspect of this because as usual in the wake of a mass shooting we talk about guns and the debate. Here in washington as were going to go up in the building behind me on monday on proposals on gun control, moderate republicans senator Susan Collins is proposing a compromise thats going to bar people from not on the terror watch but on two smaller lists from buying guns. Does that make any sense and any chance that congress is going to pass it . Well, you have democrated and theres a watch list and its cumbersome and does not have much consequences. To put someone on a list that cannot buy a gun if that that means that you get exposed to more examination when you try to board an airplane. Thats selected out. Theres the loss of the constitutional right and then its the right to buy a gun. If youre on the no fly list, you have already lost the constitutional right and the right to travel. They raise different due process questions. When you start changing mediums right all kinds of due process comes in and it gets complica d complicated. People say that this man in orlando was very odd and a lot of indications of in stability and dangerous, something should have been done. Its not sure what it can be in a kons tugal society with a rule of law. A lot of the average americans say how do you prevent the most resent . Its not clear that it would have had any affect on this at all. A lot of americans when the subject is assault whens and what they describe as an assault weapon is a machine gun. Thats been banned for 82 years since 1934 and then its a gun with a single pull of a trigger will result in a flow of bullets. Theres a huge amount of confusion and separation on the perceived dangers and the affect of what were hearing. Lets bring in the panel. We ask you for questions for the panel here and we got an interesting question on facebook and a terrorist without a an ar 15 is capable of murder. Why does the administration focus on the one variable and not the one common denominatode . How do you answer mark . On one hand you have lynch saying look, give due process and give them time. She is saying unlimited due process. Then you have republicans saying give them 72 hours. Isnt there something in the middle . Isnt that amazing. I think the person that wrote in is suggesting that too. We live in a world where the part son defies policy. You think that this is about guns and if youre a republican you think that this is about terrorism and these two things are not meeting anywhere in the middle. They went out and how do we prevent another orlando . A majority of them said do something at guns. Muslims way down on the list that it would prevent. I went back to the last time that we had a compromise and back in the clinton era and back then you had republicans that voted for it and 77 democrats voted against it. That era does not exist anymore. The idea that you have conservative and then they can come up with a compromise and those people are gone. The only people left in congress are those believed in the ideology that drive the party. One more thing and i want to go back to cia director that as theyre losing the territory that isis is focussing more on the terror attacks and he talked about using the refugees in the west and in defense doesnt that trap what donald trump is saying . Yeah, it does and it illustrates why trump rings a bell with so many people on the issue. Its been a paradox of the season chris that in the polling that was done state after state among Republican Voters that immigration was ranked very low. Theres no other way to look at trumps success without concluding that his stand on immigration and i think that in a lot of peoples minds blends into limiting all of immigration legal and illegal and has been a winner for him and continues to be if this process goes on. If as he says there are more of these attacks, and he says that there will be. I think that helps him. Thats an issue and immigration is very low and yet an overwhelming majority supported them and they were calling that and theres an issue of immigration. Were going take a back and when we come back the growing divide of don and the gop. What do you think . Will trump pivot and become a candidate for the election. Let me know on facebook or twitter on Fox News Sunday and use the fns. Bane on muslim would not have stopped the attack neither would a wall. She is in total denial and the reluctance to ever name the enemy broadcast weakness across the world. True weakness. The orlando massacre divides the debate on clinton this week and how they will fight with the war or terror. Amy, a couple of seg nlts ago we talked to sessions on how the poll numbers are dropping and one of the few areas that is on the issue of who would be better to take on and defeat isis but on the other hand it plays into the clinton attack and not having the temperament and how do you see the attack on or l orlando. I think that voters overwhelming when we they look to see they dont go down a checklist and then the person and its a sense of which person they think can do the job. I think thats obviously why clinton is trying the make the issue and not that its unpredictable and then theres the Obama Administration and then in the last eight years of isis and dealing with libya. Instead of being focused and disciplined, he talks about the muslims and even dividing his own party about the issue and how do you deal with the issue of the muslim band. Theres nobody there making the case and its not just the Trump Campaign. Theres no money being spent on this and no super pacts defending him and doing this. He is an on island on himself and theres no reinforcements and clinton is making the case everyday and the allies are making the case everyday on television and focused direct messaging to voters. Bret, i would love to continue because on the one hand as amy says to the degree that you have the terror attacks you can make the case against obama and then directly against clinton as the secretary of the statement on the other hand as we went through with sessions here we have a terrible tragedy and trump is is talking about what obama has in mind. Exactly right. Its worth noting that in every Campaign Cycle general Campaign Cycle, there are moments when the candidate gets a fresh look from the voters. When you lock up the nominations and its a moment. These moments are few, and cannot afford to waste them. Trump had them and he wrapped it up before she had. There were some open country there and the opportunity to get to the fresh look at him. A discipline and active and well planned campaign focussing on the issues that could broaden the appeal would have helped him. As amy just pointed out, he has not done that. He is undisciplined and all over the place. He gets in a fight over the ethnic background of a federal judge and that has to do with the case of the Trump University and totally unrelated to the campaign. He is over stating the case against obama by suggesting that the president is somehow sympathetic to the bad guys. Its a wasted opportunity and an opening for clinton thats moved aggressively, and its hard to think about. Right now im not trump. Theres Something Else that we talked about and trump was not just fighting with clinton and obama this week but with his own party. At one point he basically said that he could walk away are from the party. They were talking about winning and. Its likely and this week Governor Hogan joined the list of those that the republican governor and jeff flake from arizona and thats resistant and points out that trump got 13 million of them and he probably needs 65 million votes to win the presidency. Where is he going to get the other 52 million. Donald trumps assumption clearly point is that running in a primary against and then its a democratic machine. Thats unlikely and what the democrats have is the get out the vote mechanism and thats an election and not a persuasion and so if he does not have the get out the vote mechanism, what he has is crowds. Like a real amateur in politics, that the enthusiasm of the crowds at a moment with the largest ones. Where as in fact crowds are not representatives of the American People. You know one its not as if clinton is not a vulnerable candidate herself. The unfavoritable numbers and not 70 percent and theyre 55 percent and she has a criminal investigation going on and on at the fbi and to the degree that youre not happy with the policies and she can be held responsible for those and to the degree that they make this on trump and not her, those issues may not come up. Thats exactly right. Its dont vote for the other guy or the target. Its about trump. You can talk about clinton but in fact all of the emphasis and public attention is on trump. He is, you know, from my perspective an unattractive alternative. Its like who else is in the race . Its one other person. The alternative to save us from trump is clinton. Republicans lives are in a tight spot. He is practicing textbook racism and then running for congress and the senate and just to rely on the conscience. The base is going say that they did not back trump and thats why he lost. They will blame paul ryan if trump loses. Theyre all trying to look the other way. Less than a minute and amy, the frustration is so much and so are saying to go to cleveland and change the rules and go and have a free vote. Is there any chance . I think that it would tear the party apart. I dont understand how that would help anything other the idea of 13 others voting . Yeah, and then take it out. Do you think that theyre going to walk away after that . I did not get the nomination and im going to go sit here quietly. Lets see what happens with lintons lead 15 to 20 points. Thats going change it dramatic limit i doubt its going to happen, but its possible. Thank you panel. See you next sunday. The power player of the week. Putting a fresh face on american history. He had to put on his wig and it was very sort of formal. We begin in the traditional part and then the presence and painting of thomas jefferson.
