Getting outside though here is a look from up above. Only area with fog this morning along san mateo coastline. It stretches around pacifica and mostly clear. Just a sliver there. The forecast for the east bayshore line. Haywood into the low 70s. Upper 60s expected and then the second part of the day. Just sitting pretty with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures start to cool off around dinner time. Still a goodlooking day. The warmer spots, 85 expected for antioch. 81 an jose and 83 to the north bay. Right now traffic is moving along well around the bay area as we continue to look at some of the busiest spots including 580. Its slow on the pass but it is not as slew as normal for this time. Usually we have more slow traffic. We have a lighter commute if you are driving from the pass. The road sensors are green. If this were a bad commute you would see a lot of red, maybe a little bit of yellow. This is a look at 880. You can see traffic is moving along very well and the morning commute isnt bad on westbound bay bridge. Coming up to the toll plaza. Lets go back to the desk. Thank you. New, we are just now getting word of a water main breakin belmont. Lee martinez just arrived there so you are with us now. Whats happening out there . Reporter this is not like some of the water main breaks we have seen before. We have a lot of water flowing its flowing underneath two houses out here. The one we are standing in front of and the with unover to the left of this too. These two homes were evacuated this morning just before four because the water is flowing underneath their homes, we are told by emergency people that it is compromising the safety of these two homes. We dont see any emergency people out here right now because we are told that from a neighbor that they may be up above the hill. We are hearing there may also be some water problems over on marburger avenue. We are on san juan boulevard. The neighbor said she is not evacuated. No emergency people have come to her house. She is a little nervous herself wanting to know what the integrity of the land behind her. She said have there is a mudslide. We heard emergency people. They said they suspected maybe two to five thousand gallons of water a minute were coming down this hill. Thats why these two homes had to be evacuated. We drove around before we came out to this house and this water is flowing down this street. It goes down for blocks. It seems at the same that we have been standing out here that a lot less water is flowing. There is a possibility they managed to shut down the water and the neighbor next door said she did see per two neighbors take off this morning after they were told to evacuate. So, at this point we havent seen emergency people out here but its a strong possibility they are up above in the neighborhood above this hill because we are told by the next door neighbor there seem sos be thats where the water seems to becoming from. Today marks six months since the devastating ghost ship warehouse fire in oakland. 36 people were killed in the deadliest fire in california in more than a hundred years. So far 30 families have joined in a lawsuit against several parties including the warehouse owner, the widing manager, pg e and the city of oakland. Sue slocum lost her 32yearold daughter donna kellogg. I just dont want to feel like it was in vain. There has to be a responsibility. In terms of a leadership level we just didnt do enough to deal with Properties Like this one. Reporter oakland city councilman represents the neighborhood at 31st avenue and international boulevard and said the city is trying to make improvements. At the time of the fire the Fire Department had six Code Enforcement inspectors. The mayor is planning to triple that number over the next two years. Meantime bart police announced an arrest in connection with car breakins. The suspect may be responsible for robbing as many as 16 cars including nine at one stipulation. An investigation near the daley station led to this arrest. Police arent telling us the suspects name because he is under the age of 18. The state passed a measure yesterday to protect people who are following california regulations from being detained, reported or arrested by state or local police. The bill is being compared to the socalled sanctuary state bill thats advancing through the legislature. It would stop the police from cooperating federal immigration enforcement. California voted to legalize marijuana in november. A Church Pastor has been arrested accused of assaulting both adults and children. The 47yearold victor gomez is a pastor. He was arrested yesterday after several people claimed that he abused them. He was booked on six charges of sexual assault. Police are asking other victims to come forward. Three Santa Clara County jail guards have been found guilty in the beating death of an inmate. They were convicted in the death of the man who was found beaten inside his jail cell at the main jail in august of 2015. He was being held while he waited to be sent to a Mental Health facility. The jurys decision follows a two month long trial. With their careful consideration and just verdict they treated michael as a man of value, a person with strengths and promises, rights and dignity and a family who loved him. They now face 15 years to life in prison. They are due to be sentenced in september. Strong reaction to businesses that place bids to build the president s border wall. The Trump Administration has asked the court to immediately reinstate the ban on travelers from six mostly muslim countries. Saying that the United States will be safer if the policy is put in place. Last night in a filing the Justice Department argued that the lower courts that blocked the travel ban made mistakes including relying on statements that the president made during the campaign. New then nothing, the state court in San Francisco has ruled that hand gestures dont qualify as criminal threats. The case involved a man in Riverside County ceused of using his hands to simulate a gun that he pointed at an off Duty Police Officer in 2013. That off Duty Police Officer and his friends said they felt threaten by that gesture. The man was charged by the da with making a criminal threat. However the court ruled that the state law defining criminal threats doesnt include nonverbal hand gestures. Gun Rights Groups criticizing a decision yesterday by a court yesterday. A panel upheld a five dollar fee on gun sales. The money goes to a state Program Designed to get guns out of the hands of people who arent allowed to own them. The program identities people who first bought a gun legally but later couldnt own them because they committed crimes like Domestic Violence or were ruled to be mentally ill. The state Senate Approved a measure to ban california from doing any business with contractor who were bidding on building the president s proposed border wall. Supporters say the state shouldnt support companies that work on a project that may be harmful to immigrant families. Critics argue that the bill promotes political discrimination. 20 bay area based companies have shown interest in working on the border wall. So far congress hasnt approved funding. More details are now coming in regarding the appearance on capitol hill next week by james comey. He will testify before the Senate Intelligence committee thursday. Starting at 7 00 in the morning our time. Itll be the first time that he speaks in public since the president fired him more than three weeks ago. He had been heading up an investigation into suspected ties between russia and the trump campaign. That investigation has now been taken over by special council. The Washington Post reports that comey has reached an understanding with the office about what can and cannot discuss but it appears that he will be allowed to reveal details of some of his communications with the president. The philippines families morning death of their loved ones after 36 people died in a robbery at a hotel casino. Look at the chaos. Officials inthe philippines say most died from smoke inhalation at the hotel after a man set fire to gaming tables. Police say that the masked gunman stormed the resorts world manilla complex with a rifle early yesterday morning. More than 70 people were hurt in a stampede to get out or suffer from smoke inhalation. One guest died from a heart attack. The gunman himself died after setting himself on fire in a hotel room. Police say that robbery appears to be the motive for the attack. The gunman was found with more than 2 million worth of stolen casino chips in his backpack. California legislature will not renew a contract with the law firm of former United States attorney generic holder. A Downtown Community benefit district is now calling the rincon hill neighborhood the east cut.
