jacksonville. rainfall should be tapering off on the tip of cape canaveral. the feeder bands are coming in. it's not so much the whipped as it goes parallel to the coast. it's the storm surge which is going to be huge. the depth of the ocean is shallower off the gorge oo and -- georgia is south carolina coast. >> that's something that i think all eyes will be focusing on the right now the eye is around daytona beach, maybe a bit north. >> we are going to continue our team coverage. we are following the latest developments in our news room. what can you tell us as far as the storm? >> i have been monitoring everything. steve is keeping us in the loop as well watching the coverage from the orlando area. the storm is just east of cape canaveral. there is rain and high winds. millions of people have been evacuated. at one point the storm produced winds in excess of children 30 miles per hour. there are reports of storm related fires and a flood watch in brevard county. we spoke with a man who lives in cocoa beach. that storm is still a bit north east of there. he said that the winds have been intense and he said he has no power or internet. he filled his bathtub with drinking water in case the water service is knocked out. he described what it looks like. >> it's blowing very hard. the wind, right now is topping out from the north west. you will not believe this but there are people out on the beach. >> you can see those people on the beach that he was telling us about. those were photos he texted to me a while ago. the danger is the storm surge. you heard receive talking about it a minute ago. hanging on the beach could be dangerous. we are expecting the storm surge is six to 9 feet. the governor of florida is scheduled to speak about the hurricane. in south carolina, the governor is going to have a news conference in two hours. the storm is heading in their direction. after the storm passes through the carolinas it's expected to make its way out to the sea. right now it seems like orlando may have come through okay. cape canaveral seems okay. as the storm moves north, how much damage will it cause. >> what about the evacuations. you said that there were people on the beach. we were in savannah saying, people were not leaving. >> people are still out on the beach. merritt island is under evacuations. they said people calling in having emergencies, the police cannot get to thevment emergency services are overwhelmed. any time you are told to get out, that the there is a warning. it is important to leave the area. >> yes. thank you for weeping an eye on to be fun. things are going to kick into high gear later today. we are at marina green. this is a lot of the military vehicles parked on the grass. they will be on display for the public to check out. later this morning we are going to see the parade of ships. five military ships will be sailing under the golden gate bridge. this is video from last year's parade. they are going to be docked on the piers in san francisco. then in the afternoon the blue angels will be putting on a show. yesterday they took to the skies over the bay area to practice for their shows. the navy stunt team is performing today, tomorrow and sunday. the shows start at 3:00 in the afternoon. we talked to a pilot who is a bay area native. he grew up and loss altos and wept to mountain view high school. >> i joined the navy because of the blue angels. i watched them as a kid. >> this is his first time flying at fleet week in san francisco. he's thrilled to be taking part. the shows get underway at 3:00 into a car. the bus involved in the crash is from their oldest fleet with old wiring. three women were arrested in san leandro as the police shut down a suspected brothel. a sting operation was set up after neighbors complained about suspected illegal activities. three women tried to run away. they were arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest. another woman and a man were found inside of the home. detectives were investigating whether or not other crimes like human trafficking are involved. a ceo of a web kroit is in jail -- website is in jail because his company, back page.com is accused the city's police department for making a ground braking training video. officers will be taught to avoid conflicts with people are autism. it could save lives. >> it took a year to create this video. >> in making this we were hoping to give our officers a tool in which to recognize the traits for people on the autism spectrum. >> a lot of traits are easily misunderstood. we felt that there was a need to really train officers. >> reporter: this can reduce uns necessary arrests and violent confrontations. it presents something very important. >> perhaps the most unique aspect of the video is people on the spectrum talking about themselves. >> i am on the all autism spectrum. it's hard for me to make eye contact. that does not mean i am being dishonest or trying to lie. >> i am very joining us here on mornings on two. >> good morning. is just about 6:30. it's a busy friday this morning. we have some new video and information about damage caused by hurricane matthew. look at this. this is from social media. it looks like fire works but it's the wind blowing out the power lines. the power lines are exploding. minutes ago the governor of florida announced that 600,000 people are without electricity in the statement that's double what we reported this morning. >> the category three hurricane has 120 miles per hour winds. it will make labd fall somewhere between daytona beach florida and -- landfall somewhere between daytona beach florida and jacksonville. we will have a live report from georgia but first lets start with steve. >> the power company cannot get out until the winds are under 50 miles per hour. that's not happening for a while. it sounds like they are not going to sow that for a while. >> they will later but now, no way, they cannot get out there. we have updated information. it's still a category three. 110 to 120 miles per hour winds. that western eye is getting so close there but it's still out at sea. it makes a huge difference if it stays in the ocean rather than going on shore. not only is it the whipped that they have to deal with, 58 at daytona and 54 in jacksonville. 111 at cocoa beach. now you are going to have to deal with the wind and also the storm surge, especially as you head towards jacksonville and georgia and the car line zero coast. the surge could equal 11 feet. good morning. we have slow traffic out there. it's slow on highway four and 242 because of a motorcycle accident that was cleared. the person was taken to the hospital but the traffic is slow on highway four backing up into the bay point area to concord and heading to two in 242. this is a long line of slower traffic. lets go to the maps. i will show you that highway four is slow here. people trying to get on to 242 are jammed up. people are going to 680 and heading down that way. that's a bit better but things are beginning to get heavy in the whole area. the motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital. looking at the bay bridge, traffic is backed up for a 15 to 20 miles per hour delay. threats made by people posing as clowns still on the rise in the bay area. the police are taking it seriously. we are in san jose, seeing how one district is responding to all of this. >> reporter: good morning. the east side union high school district is on alert. clowns posted on social media. they are naming schools saying that they are going to show up and the district is reactingment administrators do not want students to engage in conversation with someone making a clown threat. for the most part the threats are a hoax but authorities are responding because they do not want nun to get hurt. the district has notified the police and the superintendent has sent a letter to parent and students telling them that clown costumes and masks that do not show the identity of the students cannot be worn on halloween. >> if you are wearing a mask, is not appropriate. >> reporter: other cities that have received threats are fairfield and antioch. police said anyone caught loitering on school property with intent to commit a crime could be arrested much we are at silver creek high school. one of the students named on social media, we will be talking to their parents to hear what they are thinking. a marin can county chef is leaning on his family and coworkers is leaning on his family after being shot five times. he's on the road to recovery after several surgeries to save his life. the restaurant where he works launched a go fund me account and they raised $14,000 to pay his medical expenses. >> thank you for supporting me. i claims three san francisco police officers participated, ignored or covered up what the lawsuit called modern day slavery. the san francisco city attorney had no comment. several police officers are facing criminal charges in connection with the scandal. a judge threw out a lawsuit filed by the chinese christian i don't know saying that a statue of a urinal is offensive and discriminatory. the judge said that the statue does not violate rules or laws or the constitution. we are going back to our coverage of hurricane matthew. it's turning along the eastern coast of florida and moving north. it's threatening hundreds of miles of coast line in florida georgia and south carolina. 3million people are under evacuation orders. the storm is reaching georgia later tonight. we are live with some moving. it's filled with rain. it's filled with winds and we are also looking at the storm surge, this could be a dangerous event for the georgia coast. >> i know that people can see what is happening in florida and the bahamas. is there a heightened concern or fear or are people expecting that they will survive and miss the bad damage? >> reporter: it's both. depends who you talk to. we have been talking to people this morning. they have not had a hurricane since 1979 and that was small. the last major hurricane was 1898. they do not have the fear that you see in florida, they remember recent hurricanes and the death and destruction. georgia has been lucky. we miss most of the bad weather but that's not the case this time. >> i know we talked a lot about this all morning long. people did not heed the warning to evacuate. maybe it's too late. are there shelters set up. the numbers of people without power is doubling this morning in florida. that could be an issue for people that did not evacuate. >> they are getting people to shelters. i know of no shelters that are near. they want people inland. that's why they have the buses in place. you can come, they are free, you can bring your pets. there are shelters that are furtherer inland. it's a daiption scene. you -- dangerous scene. also think about savannah. they have not seen a occur hain in so -- hurricane in so long. >> there is going to be extensive damage in daytona. the storm is holding together as a category three. i saw gusts to 63 miles per hour. right on the tip there was a gust of winds at 100 miles per hour. now it's going north. the storm surge is now the issue. i have the continental drift here. then when you head north it's very shallow some low and sandy. it's almost like a stepladder. you get the hurricane pushing the water up and it keeps going up and up. it's like 15 feet here. that's what they are expecting. 13 inches of rain possible late tonight and into the weekend for parts of the georgia coast and south carolina. a few high clouds in the mix for us. a mostly sunny and warmer day. mid feurts for walnut creek and danville -- 40s for walnut creek and danville. a warm friday and a
