Youll recall six students were killed, three were from the bay area. 13 people were also wounded in the attack. The gunman was a 22yearold Community College student and he had posted an internet video right before the attack saying he would slaughter as many people as possible. The 570,000 grant will be used by the university to hire more Mental Healthpro health professionals. Their photos on their id cards were altered. The students found it unusual when they received new ids half way through the school year. Many students said their photos looked different than before. The chp is investigating the deadly collision, but tells us the caution bells and the cross bars did not activate at that intersection as they are supposed to. Ktvus Noelle Walker talked to a man who raced to help the victim and ended up being one of the last voices that man heard before he died. The last time mike traveled this path, he was sprinting. Today, his gait is slow, his head hangs low. It was a raw feeling. On friday, he heard a crash on the train tracks outside his home. A Pacific Union maintenance vehicle and pickup truck collided. A witness captured the rescue effort. Me and my cousin were talking to the gentleman. That is him and his cousin at the crash before emergency crews arrived. I told my cousin, jacob, check his pulse, and i kept talking to him, telling him, hang in there, youre going to make it. Dont give up. Help is on the way. The victim, 54yearold, Donald Williams of gilroy died moments later. The horrible scene was exactly what jim feared. Come on, guys. They go on to say quote, safety is a main priority for Union Pacific. This particular incident is being investigated thoroughly to determine what led to this accident and identify possible remedies. A horrific crash in sanway San Joaquin County it happened just before 7 00 this morning on the intersection of highway 4 and van allen road. Authorities say the driver of that red truck broadsided the van as it crossed the highway. Police say there were six farm workers inside the van on their way to prune trees. Only one of them survived with severe injuries. Any time you have a tbone collision, the sides of the vehicles have the least amount of protection for the occupants. Injuries tend to get worse. Those collisions tend to be more violent. Two people in the truck were also hospitalized with minor injuries. The Highway Patrol says its not clear if the stop at the stop sign before crossing the highway. Visibility due to fog was only 200 feet. Surveyors were on site for this new popup. So they are planning on using temporary structures to fill this parking lot just across the cove from at t park. We have definitely taken a page, these organic popups and creating community where there are development plans, which are taking time to come to fruition. The project is called the yard. Its called the yard because thats what this site used to be, a shipping yard and rail yard. The giants received an artist conception. Builders will be using recycled shipping containers. Keeping an industrial feel to the temporary structures. They are being constructed out of the port of oakland. They were deemed no longer seaworthy. So we took them and made structural modifications and bringing them out here to create a public area. Giants are updating the port of stan San Francisco on their plans. The giants are lining up restaurants and retailers. Organizers say unlike the ball park, the yard will be open year round. Ball park visitors from washington, d. C. Say its an idea that already worked for the washington nationals. You know, they have it at nats park. Its very popular. And after the game. And so yeah, good idea. You think its an idea that could catch up here . I think so. Now coming back to our live picture, you can see this is a parking space. One of the Major Concerns is, will this mean there are fewer Parking Spaces for the giants games . Some have been reconfigured. So we are going to see increased clouds as we head into friday and a bit of a wind shift. But thats it. We arent going to see any significant rain. The pattern is the main flow of that jet stream is going right up over the top. As we move into the next few days, another nice day tomorrow, shouldnt be a spare the air day.
