You can see the backup here, a big rig was on its side block all lane of southbound 880 and the backup is stretching for miles. We understand that a big rig has just been righted but still is blocking lanes. Just about 20 minutes ago, a large tow truck arrived to take that overturned big rick out of the lanes. The accident apparently started in the northbound lanes of interstate 880 in fremont between auto mall parkway and stevenson boulevard. This all started around 10 00 in the morning. A witnesses says the big rig driver crossed over the median. One person was injured when debris from the crash hit their vehicle. And take a look at our realtime traffic map. You can see all of the red on 880 indicating how bad the backup is and even in the opposite direction in the northbound direction also as people are slowing down to take a look at that crash scene on 880 in fremont. The family of lynn spaulding, the woman whose body was found in a stairwell of San FranciscoGeneral Hospital 17 days after she disappeared last fall is filing a claim against San Francisco. Tara moriarty joined us live. Reporter good afternoon. Lynn spaulds attorney did file the name yesterday. This is it. Its 23 pages long. He expects the City Attorneys Office will reject it. The next thing you can expect to see is a lawsuit filed. Typically with hospital claims, if one you can receive a 250,000 payout. , but shes been filed as a dependent adult under the Civil Protection act. What that means is the 250,000 cap would not apply. This claim is, of course, fallout from the incident in San FranciscoGeneral Hospital last fall in which she taliban in which she vanished from her room. An investigation determined that both the Sheriffs Department and hospital shared the blame. The only thing that lynn spauldings family has seen come out of this is the reassignment of sheriff adeputy sheriffs deputies. We do not think that reassigning a few deputies is a full enough price to pay. Reporter 2 investigates obtained documents. And the sheriffs deputy was understaffed and did not proper conducted searches because overtime was not available. One hospital transcript revealed this, the person was going to be discharged anyway and decided to take off and her daughter made a stink about it. Thats all it was. I didnt smell her but two of our guys messed up big time. They didnt do their job. Nothing new. Im just laughing. Now, the City Attorneys Office has 45 days to decide what to do with the claim. Good afternoon, brian. Reporter this is information we learned a short time ago. Were about a quarter mile south of the south hayward b. A. R. T. Station. That key piece of evidence is along a fence line similar to what you see right here. Not too far from here bart is examining at least two holes found along the fence line that enclose esthe b. A. R. T. Tracks and may provide more answers into how this happened. Its unclear how big the holes were but sources say it appears that one of the cases somebody somehow took the bolts off the fence and simply slit it open. Now, these fences are not easily accessible to the public and there is an encampment nearby where the holes why found. A man was hit by a train and killed. He has yet to be identified but b. A. R. T. Says he was a trespasser and not a b. A. R. T. Employee. They say as the Investigation Continues it does not appear there was foul play either. Our tracks are protected by very high sevenfoot chainlink fences. It has sharp edges and its not easy to access the trainway. But there are people who do it. Sometimes they get in there and steal copper or whatever. Were not sure why this person was on the track way. We could have a few sprinkles up towards novato and to the east. Coming up at 12 20, well take a look at this, the timing of the heaviest rainfall and the forecast rain amounts. Some areas could have amounts approaching 1 inch. Well highlight those air yachtia areas at 12 30. We want to take you back to 880. This is in fremont. There was a big rig on its side causing a backup for miles. This sometimes can happen in the backup, another collision, this is what you are seeing right now. It looks like people were hurt some people sitting there in the median. An ambulance there. At least two cars involved in the backup. It looks like traffic is starting to move a little bit after they uprighted that big rig. This is in the southbound lanes of interstatele interstate 880. The big rig went on its side about 10 00 this morning and traffic is still backed up there significantly and caused this. Oakland police say they have located the driver involved in an accident that was initially reported as a kidnapping. They say a young woman in her 20s was driving and hit a light pole at 83rd avenue and burch street. This was around 5 30 this morning. Its not clear why the driver disappeared or where police found here but they said that witnesses may have stopped to help and they would be checking hospitals. They have found no evidence of a kidnapping. Certainly if there is an area of the investigation that leads us to definite where we have a concern, regarding a kidnapping, well let you know. But at this stage, were looking at just a single vehicle accident. Police say they have been knocking on doors and talking to witnesses to determine exactly what happened. Dublin police are warning people to be on the lookout for three men into broke into a home, tied up an 80yearold woman and stole her cash and jewelry. It hatched monday night happened monday night on saretto street. Four other robberies happened in the same area in the last couple of days. The other robberies happened when no one was home. On monday night three young men break into a home while an 80 yearold woman was sound asleep. They tied her up and demanded cash and valuables and rummaged through the house and fled the scene.
