Reporter jay muldivado says transgenders nationwide have been facing a difficult fight. On friday there was a delay in a policy allowing transgender troops to openly enlist. In the past year by the wave of bathroom bills in 16 states that are limiting transgenders access to bathrooms. Its resilience and resistance and how you have to be a part of our movement as we move forward and challenge the decision in washington and really make our lives visible. Reporter he came from San Antonio Texas where he says a new law prohibits him from using bathrooms at his high school. We cant go on the boys bathroom or the girls bathroom. Reporter but some point to North Carolina where a bathroom bill was passed and then repealed after mainstream groups such as the nba and ncaa and Large Companies boycotted the states. We need to continue to fight back and educate people. Reporter a sign said it all as the clouds left deloris park from the twomile march. Their message is one of pride. Theyre very strong and resilient and they are really smart people. So as long as we stick together, were going to be free. I really like how the march out of all of the days of pride doesnt feel as corporate on sunday or monday. Reporter the march ended at church and taylor. A place for transgender people to build businesses and their lives. We are looking forward to create a future for us to have opportunities, for transgender people to be employed. Reporter the city approved funding for that new cultural district this month. Theyre in bars and restaurants. There are more people out and about than an average friday. They tell me theyre looking forward to this weekends festivities. Im not so good, but im welcome here. People are coming to San Francisco from around the bay area, out of space and beyond to find a sense of community they cant find elsewhere. Its insane. Its like rainbows everywhere. For the people who work hard, its on the back steps. They look like me when they are less acceptable to do that. Reporter here members of the Lgbt Community can themselves and display the park. [ laughter ] i saw it. Reporter 22yearold jessica babbott arrived from nevada for her first pride weekend. It is something i have wanted to do for a long time. It wasnt really acceptable in my hometown when i came out in 6th grade everyone stopped being my friend. Reporter trying to bring business to the castle. For many merchants its the busiest weekend of the year. Some music played at cue bar. They had to go with the history of the neighborhood gay bars. Popular meeting sense and it was the past and present. People Start Talking treely and thats what they start doing and they start exchanging ideas. Reporter after bars closed, the 24hour restaurant is often the place to be. Its been a fixture near the intersection of market and castle for 40 years. Pride weekend is lucrative. People are going to be dancing, a lot of people knew each other. Reporter the stage is set for the Big Pride Party on saturday and sunday and crews tell us they spent all day preparing. There will be inspirational speakers and performers. Pride is taking center stage in San Francisco. Center we have earned the rights to celebrate a lot of things to legally get married. Tomorrow morning dozens of people will gather on twin peaks to assemble the famous Pink Triangle. This is video from last year of the oneacre display, which is made up of 175 bright pink canvass held down by thousands of steel spikes. The Pink Triangle was once used to label homosexuals in nazi concentration camps. But it was later adopted as a symbol of reflection and pride by the gay rights movement. The event begins tomorrow morning at 7 00 and volunteers are welcome. With projects around the world this month, social media is flushed with pride posts. Just look for the story on our home page. Bart services are getting back to normal tonight after enduring major concerns. The problem is the transbay tube. Now debris on the tracks caught fire at about 6 15. Crews had to go beneath the bay to clean it up. For the next half an hour bart was forced to single track their trains between the east bay and the city. The blown insulator started that fire and crews were able to restore full service by 7 45. We have new information now about last weeks deadly shooting at the ups facility in San Francisco. Police say the gunman jimmy lam was armed with two stolen guns and then he targeted three men he killed. Investigators recovered a mac 10 stolen in utah and a semi automatic pistol stolen in napa. Lam only used the mac10 firing 20 rounds in all. He killed three ups coworkers before taking his own life. After the shooting inside the building, numerous ups employees fled the building. He was calmly walking outside the building as well. A motive for the shooting is not clear. Police served this search warrant at lams home reviewing journals and computer files that may provide some answers. Police in oakland found the man shot dead inside his car after crashing into some parked cars this afternoon. Sky fox is over the scene about 4 00 this afternoon. The driver crashed his car near foothills boulevard pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he was shot on bankcroft avenue on 76th and then drove away. Myself or no word on a motive no word on a motive. Nevada senator dean howard says he objects to the deep cuts to medicaid. But fox News ReporterGarrett Tenney tells us the president and Vice President both spoke out in support of the bill today. The nevada senator said friday he could not support the Gop Health Care bill in its current form. Heller is in and out fifth republican senator to come out against his own partys health care plan. Reporter in response to their complaints, the city in two weeks will begin enforcing their parking ordinance. Parked vehicles will have to move every three days. Its completely a last resort. That is absolutely our last hope. Reporter the Police Department says the change will come in steps. First an informational flier and then a 72hour warning and lastly towing the vehicle. The ordinance says a vehicle must be moved at least half a mile away, but it does not say for how long. So conceivably a driver could get in and circle the block for half mile and then come right back and park in the same spot. But the only mandate, they could prove the vehicle was moved. Reporter critics crack down on the ordinance. What it really comes down to it, people need to learn how to play leapfrog. Reporter others say more help is needed from social welfare agencies. Tesla motors is reportedly in talks to create their own music streaming service. The tech site is reporting tesla has met with all nature music labels about licensing the service that would come bundled with their cars. The Santa Cruz Sentinel report 34 children and 25 staff got sick this week at a camp run by the mt. Herman Conference Center near scotts valley. Park rangers in the yosemite say they are not sure when the pass will reopen after recordbreaking winter snow pack. The road is a popular route through the yosemite and down the eastern slopes. The pass closed last november after being blocked by snow. Park managers say snow melt is now flooding parts of the roads and thats making it too hazardous to drive. Repairs are still made into power, water, and sewer systems. According to the Yosemite Park website, the latest the road has ever reopened was june 30th. That was back in 1995. The Golden Gate Bridge district has decided to close the northbound side of the bridge for the upcoming San Francisco marathon because of security concerns. Decision comes after terrorist attacks involving cars drove into crowds. The closer means there will be a solid barrier to protect runners crossing the bridge. The race is set for july 23.
