Now i will have a new filing deadline and you will have a new Voter Registration deadline for the june 7th primary coming up. Now as far as the letter is concerned we talked to local appreciate the opportunity to be heard but they have been voicing the concerns for three years. The toll lane contract has been a sore spot for lots of folks. I was frustrated with our government for their decisions that were made towards allowing the toll to continue. Local leaders like charlotte mayor lyles who as a representative of the charlotte regional transportational organization voted to support the project have concerns over parts of the contract. I along with every other councilmember believe the contract has issues. The 50 years needs to be explained and how do we manage tolls and address the customer service. And local leaders can take the concerns to the d. O. T. The letter is asking mayors for a list of specific aspects of the contract that they object to. He does not like the contract or the project but appreciates that the state is listening. All of us are not going to what you believe. But to me, they are making every effort possible to get as much inclusion and to handle any fears or concerns that may be there or at least give you an answer to them. As a taxpayer in the area, i would appreciate someone evaluating and listening to our opinions.
