Human skeletal remains taken turning up i inside a home in hartford. Police in connecticut say that is just what happened and have arrested a suspect 3, 2year old almador medina and investigators say medina was cooperative and showed them where to find the remains. They practice a religion called santaria. The bones would be used for medicinal purposes. And medicinal practices in the century of faith. It exists in the community. Reporter fbi agents raided a home in Riverside California early saturday morning, shooting rampage suspect syed farook and his family used to live next door. I heard the windows crashing, the garage door being torn. The house belonged to a friend of syed farook who purchased 2 assault rifles that were used in the shooting. The fbi investigation is focusing on the couples ties to terrorist organizations. So far we have no indication these killers are part of an organized larger group or a according to an unnamed federal Law Enforcement official, the Los Angeles Times report syed farook had some type of contact with people from syria. And also somalia. His wife, Tashfeen Malik, pledged her support phthisis and its leader pledged her support to isis and its leader. Her friends also say she became more devout and started dressing conservatively. Isis official Radio Station called the couple supporters but stop short of claiming responsibility for the attack. A bomb scare on atlantic avenue on friday and then yesterday a chemical scare on board an mbta bus. Both threats were harmless. Authorities didnt know that in the moment. We have a real problem and we need to act. Heres what i think we need to do, we need to ensure that congress reinstate the federal assault weapons band. We should ban people from buying guns who cant get on airplanes. It makes absolutely no sense. We need a better system for universal background checks and better communication universally shared among local state and federal officials. We need to have a change in culture and change the conversation in this country. As i say, this is a moral issue. What any of that have we will never know in a particular instance but if you just look what has been this exponential rise in Mass Shootings and we need to do something. We need to do more than something, we need to do everything we can. As i say, this is a moral issue for our country. During your campaign for attorney general, during the democratic primary, you to argue about smart gun technology. He wanted to pursue get the commonwealth behind all sorts of technological changes, for instance, a stolen gun couldnt be operated because the fingerprint would have to match. You said you didnt think the office had the authority to do that kind of things. Has reviewed changed . I think it is something that can happen to legislation. I think we should do everything we can to explore safer gun technology. Lets make sure the guns that are being manufactured are the safest that they can possibly be. During your first year in office, has there ever been an instance where you have objected to a proposed avenue of surveillance or proposed tactic on privacy grounds . I think, a couple things, one, it is important for people in massachusetts to know that there is regular and ready communication between and among enforcement. It is really important that we have strong communication in the face of Terror Threat in terror potential. That is important. Certainly when it comes to privacy, we need to take all steps to protect several public safety. My question, have you ever objections to a Law Enforcement initiative . No, not today. Although, with respect to our ongoing investigations and Enforcement Actions in joint investigations, we are mindful of the constitutional limits and what we can and cant do in terms of privacy and ensuring that people Civil Liberties are protected. But it is a time in which we need to have constant and ready communication between and among all of us in Law Enforcement. I had to break and we will move on, but you ever feel handcuffed and what you can do with regard to terror by privacy and that kind of thing . I think there are appropriate limits in place and we do everything we can to work with that. I do believe as a stay, we are handcuffed by the other in action of the congress in washington on the issue of guns and gun violence. In response, the Insurance Industry in the state agency that signed off on those, said you are all wet in risking what is your response . Data. We have studied this issue. My job is to protect homeowners and consumers. All we are asking for is that the system for Homeowners Insurance be fair and reasonable. Importantly, that it be transparent. Right now, proposed raised rate are not publicly filed. We do not know when they are filed. Their signed off on before our office or consumers have an opportunity to object. No hearings; right . Mac no hearings. What we found in looking at the data was that we saw insurers who had change the way they calculated risks, who had allowed last years winters storms impact 2, we believe, unnecessarily and overly impact their risk assessments. As a result, our concern is that they were looking to increase their bottom lines at the all we are asking for here, and we look forward to working with the division of insurance, is that there be fairness and that there be transparency and that consumers have a voice in this process. It sounds to me like maybe we need a shakeup of the division of insurance. As they say, we identify this as an issue and we stand ready to work with them on this issue to protect consumers and to ensure a more fair marketplace. Are they blowing you off . I think right now, does we are waiting to see we are waiting to see what their response will be. My hope is that they will take a hard look at this and that together we can arrive at a place where theres fairness and transparency and where we know what the proposed hike will be and have an opportunity to do something about that on behalf of consumers before it is acted upon.
