When delaware state troopers came looking for a 29yearold suspect who allegedly tried to choke his girlfriend, they found his black honda and police say he opened fire. I heard a popping noise. It sounded like a nail gun. Gunshots outside. He went to his window. It went through his wall. Reporter neighbors say the gun battle lasted just a few seconds. I saw the cop cars out there. I could see what looked like somebody in the street. Reporter neighbors say the gun battle came after a day of threats that forced the couples two children to flee. She gets out of her car. When she reaches her apartment, the attacker moves in struggling with her and get her jewelry. He forces her into her car where she circles the block. Thats when she makes the call to her friend. Her friend shows up and hands over cash to the robber. He drives off with the woman letting her off a few blocks away. Thankfully, no one has seriously hurt. A scary situation for both of the victims. If you recognize the suspect in this video, Philadelphia Police want to hear from you. They will meet to talk about preventing violence against women after a young doctor was raped in her home. Tonights meeting is scheduled for 7 00, the tenth presbyterian church. We will have the opportunity to learn selfdefense and learn more about the budding system. This comes less than a week after a young woman was followed home. Police say Milton Garcia tailed the victim and then forced his way into her apartment where he allegedly raped her multiple times saturday morning. Investigators say they tracked him down using pings from the victims stolen phone. He was arrested, charged on monday. Police now trying to determine if he also exposed himself to a second woman an hour before that rape. A man and woman are in Critical Condition right now after someone stabbed them several times in philadelphias olney section. Police are trying to figure out who did it. They believe it happened in front of this home this morning. A 71yearold woman was stabbed as many as 15 times from her chest to her toes. Her 74yearold male roommate was stabbed twice. They found a knife steps away from the front door. Thats where a neighbor found the woman. She was right in front of her door crawling to the other side. She just kept saying, call the emergency room, call the emergency room. Police removed more than a dozen cats and kittens from the home. According to investigators thats part of the problem. They say this is an extreme case of hording as well. New information in acase of alleged sex abuse involving a music teacher in chester county. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He is accused of sexually assaulting three students and showing nude pictures to three others. He taught them at the Malvern School of music. He also gave private lessons at his home. Allegheny county, where pittsburgh is located, is cutting off benefits to samesex partners if theyre not married. The county has 11 employees with samesex partners getting benefits. Those will be terminated august 1 and those people can apply for the Affordable Care act. In delaware lawmakers are closer to approving a bailout for casinos. They are struggling because of competition from neighboring states, also fees paid to the state. The bill calls for the state to help pay vendor costs for slot machines. As a result, were seeing showers and even thunderstorms building in parts of the area. Localized flooding, we have seen some of that in western pennsylvania and now central pennsylvania. Eventually, some of that moisture headed this way. The comfort, thats going to be returning before too long. Look at the sky here. Were looking at center city up to the north and down to the south. You can see the rain right there. The ones around the philadelphia area are more typical rain showers. We have more Severe Weather back to the west. 86, reporting lightning in philadelphia. 55 humidity, the wind south at 14 miles an hour. You have lightning reported at the airport and at least 30minute delays right now. 86 there. 89 in allentown. 76 in reading. Cooler down toward the jersey shore are the sea breeze and the sojerly wind coming off the ocean. That will continue. You can see the showers and around the philadelphia area. Some of those are heavy. We have a couple of spots in northern salem county, this cell is moving up toward philadelphia and the airport. This other one is near berwyn and heading northeast. Thats briefly heavy rain there. Thats not the main area. That is now in central pennsylvania. You can see this area of red. Theres a lot of lightning with that. They have had reports of an inch of rain in 15 minutes. Thats a rate of four inches an hour. Thats enough to cause flooding. You can get flooding in 15 minutes, which is what they have gotten in State College. Were watching this back to the west and see what happens as we go into the evening hours. Some of the showers are way ahead of that line. Its 7 00, 8 00 tonight, the main area coming in after 8 00, 9 00, 10 00. There it is it right on top of the i95 corridor. Once that gets here, again, its got tremendous moisture with it. Its not a widespread flood threat. We dont have a flood watch. But there are localized flooding threats with cells like this. Then things quiet down. But they dont completely dry out. We may not completely dry out for a little while tomorrow. Not as humid as today and we dont have the hefr have i rain threat. Then on friday, we may have an we may have a disturbance coming through. Watch what happens as we go into friday afternoon. We do have some more threats of showers before the week is out. Back to the west, theres a lot more lightning with that, a lot more in the way of heavier rain. Thats going to take until 6 00 to get to harrisburg. That will take a while. 8 00 around allentown. In other news, witnesses take the stand today in the philadelphia ticket fixing trial to explain how their traffic tickets disappeared. Six former Traffic Court judges on trial. Todays testimony focused on a businessowner who is also accused. Lu ann cahn is live with details for us. Reporter we heard from a couple of Witnesses Today who dont speak english about how their tickets went away. They spoke through translators and they all said, they went through this man. Can i talk to you about the testimony . Robert moy didnt want to talk to you today. Prosecutors say he advertised in chinese language advertisements that he would talk to anyone who wanted to make their philadelphia traffic ticket go away. Federal prosecutors say he had a special deal with a former traffic judge who also didnt want to be seen by us today. Several witnesses took the stand explaining through a translator they paid moy and didnt hear more about their ticket. Attorneys for the six former traffic judges say they never took money or gifts. Prosecutors argue, they still denied the city funds that would have been collected from thousands of tickets that were fixed for the powerful and connected. Sgli know thats what their claim is.
