Within the past 15 minutes weve got new information about an overnight shooting inest whicher that left five people injured including two teenagers. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live outside the Chester Police department for us this morning. Tell us what youve learned. Hi, chris, thats right. I got new information from a captain here at the Chester Police department in the last few minutes. The two teenagers, five people were shot, of those five two are teenagers, a 14yearold girl an a 14yearold boy. Heres our video. When Police Arrived on the scene they found those teens shot in the foot and the leg. Officers fond three men, adult men who were shot. The victims were all transported to crozerchester Medical Center where they are listed right now in stable condition. From the bullet casings found on the ground, ours have determined at least eight to ten shots were fired and police learned from talking to witnesses this morning that the group of people, the group of victims, they were just standing on the Basketball Court talking, playing basketball when all of a sudden, shots came from the direction of 8th and tillman streets, not far from where they were standing. And apparently everyone scattered and ran for cover. As a result of that, five people were shot here in chester a little after midnight. Two of those teens. At this time, all listed in stable condition at a nearby hospital. Reporting live in chester, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. Also new from overnight, police are looking for the gunman who shot two women. This happened at 11 30 on north fallon street in north philly. One victim is in Critical Condition, the other is in stable. A woman and her daughter are still in Critical Condition this morning following this food truck explosion caught on camera. A total of 12 people were hurt in the blast. Lets show you the map to show you where it happened at 3rd and wyoming in philadelphias feltonville neighborhood. Check out the blast again. Look at the video. Camera. You see the food truck exploding. The blast sent a propane tank neighbors backyard and burned cars and power lines. Police say a woman and her mother were working in the food truck when the propane tank burst into flames. I heard a loud boom, just a loud boom. I turn around and this truck just instantly started smoking. You heard screams, like deafening, hurt, pain type screams. Four people remain hospitalized including the mother and daughter who were working inside the truck at the time. A day care worker is facing charges for leaving five children inside a car with the air conditioning on while she went shopping. Philadelphia police say Karen Thompson left those children ranging in age from 6 months to 9 yeears old for at least 20 minutes. The children as we showed you from skyforce 10 were taken out of the car with be they were checked out. Theyre doing fine. Among the charges thompson is facing, endangering the welfare of children. According to the Pennsylvania Department of motor vehicles, a driver is not allowed to leave a children under the age of 6 in a car unattended for any amount of time if the car is not within eyesight. In new jersey or delaware, there are no laws making it illegal to leave a child unattended in a car. Philadelphia police are trying to track down a man accused of stuffing his mothers body in a freezer. The discovery was made yesterday at a home on lee street in hunting park. The suspect told them his 83yearold mother died of Natural Causes in january. Investigators believe hes been cashing her Social Security checks since then. An autopsy will be done to determine how she died. Its july 2nd and still no budget for pennsylvania. Governor tom corbett says hes holding off on signing a budget plan. The state budget deadline was monday night. Also in harrisburg, hope is fading for thec proposed cigarette tax that could pump money into philadelphia schools. Nbc 10s sources say lawmakers took that tax out of an amendment that will be voted on later today. Sources say mayor Michael Nutter and the citys delegation will fight to get that tax put back into the measure. Without the tax, the School District says it will have to make major cuts.
