Melania trumps speech a big topic of conversation here at the convention and out and about in cleveland. Lauren is down on the floor inside the q. Shes been talking to some of the local delegations to get their reaction to the speech. Lauren, what are they saying . Reporter you know, jim, they are not crazy about this distraction, and they liked Melania Trumps speech. Remember, this was a big moment last night. Donald trump coming out and introducing her. Her speaking to this huge crowd. We really dont hear her speak to large crowds like this very often, so that was sort of all part of the buzz that this is creating here, but the delegates i talked to, they liked what she had to say, they liked how she presented herself. Take a listen to how some local pennsylvania delegates responded. Were all talking about the same things. We want the country to improve. We have issues, serious issues, that need to be taken care of. So of course youre going to end up using many of the same phrases. I wouldnt call that plagiarism. I would call that caring about what needs to be done. If its plagiarism, if its not plagiarism, i dont think thats an issue that, you know, we should necessarily concern ourselves with because, you know, someone says something, and someone else adopts that, you know, so what . You know, thats just part of the process. Reporter yeah. So largely defending Melania Trump, and also just not wanting to get pulled into of that being the big issue this week.
