The board of health just approved a new rule that forces them to warn diners about salt on the menus. Cbs 2s ilana gold shows us what people can expect. The establishments have more than 15 locations now have to make menus that look similar to this and put saltshaker warnings by the items that have at least 2300 milligrams of sodium the recommended daily maximum intake. This one here in Bergen County, about 10 feet high, 40 feet long. Residents say they understand this is on private railroad property. But they say its a public nuisance. Primarily im concerned about vandals coming here daytime nighttime taking ties throwing them on the tracks and running away. He says an even bigger pile on his side two weeks ago was taken away by nj transit after he complained. He said they sat here four months. Reporter nj transit warns people should not walk on tracks or its right of way but we asked the agency why ties have to sit along the side of the tracks for so long. Reporter jonathan good is no stranger to eye problems. He has had an infection, detached retina and cataract surgery but it was the double vision he developed that really bothered him. When i was reaching for doors, i would either miss or hit the handle, i was knocking water off the table. Reporter double vision is not uncommon in adults. It can come on suddenly or if its slow in developing, like jonathan, the patient may not realize it for a while. The causes are many. With adults they will have retina, glaucoma problems or neuroophthalmic problems that will affect the eye muscles making them not strong enough. Reporter after an exam and diagnosis there are several treatments. Surgery to help align the eyes may help. Glasses may help bring two images close enough together for the brain to fuse them and eye exercises can train the brain and eyes to work together. For people like jonathan, it was to ignore one of the images. One had to show him how not to use one eye to put them together but to use the other. Focusing on the image out of my right eye and thats the clearer vision 20 20 out of that eye. Reporter youre ignoring what your left eye is telling your brain . Yes. Reporter that technique is similar to what many people do when they try monovision with their contact lenses or after laser eye surgery. One eye is corrected for distance the other for reading. But again, the key is a good eye exam. For middleaged adults thats about every one or two years. Thats probably a lot more often than most people actually get them. Why are you look at us .
