It happen at midnight at 245 jolle. By the time firefighters got here, the conditions were too dangerous to go inside. They couldnt make their way past the smoke and fire, and they tried their hardest to try to get up to the second floor where they thought there were some people, but they couldnt get there until the fire trucks got on scene, and they put the fire out as quickly as they could. Reporter we can confirm at least one person is dead and we are hearing there may be multiple victims. A developing story. Stock futures are up this morning, following another severe drop on wall street. Yesterday they suffered the third biggest loss of the year. The dow was down 469 points, and it even dipped below 16,000 earlier in the session. The s p fell 58, and the tumble followings new worries about chinas economy. You hate to see it slow down, but it is slowing down. Tuesdays losses bring the market back into correction territory meaning they have dropped more than 10 from recent highs. Cbs 2s Jessica Schneider spoke to a woman about her time on the run. I really need someone to help me. Reporter 23yearold Tiffany Neumann claiming she is the victim after breaking out of Police Custody. Did you steal a womans credit card, too . I didnt steal it. She left if in the bar for me, and i used it. Reporter neumann beelined for the bar after walking out of the hospital where a now suspended cop left her alone when he went to the bathroom. She stole the cell phone and credit cards of a she defriended. I bought cigarettes and food. Reporter police finally nabbed neumann on Tuesday Morning when she showed up at her aunts home. Shes fourth suspect to escape custody since june. Stephanie neumann is now facing escape, grant larceny, and possession of stolen property. An officer was gunned down yesterday morning 50 miles northwest of chicago, and helicopters and over 100 officers are searching doorto door for the gunman. Charles glenowitz was found shot after getting into the a foot chase with the victims, and his gun was taken. Authorities are urging people stay home. Authorities say he was married with children. This 33yearold woman was followed to her apartment and attacked. She fought back and managed to get inside and lock the door. Former wrestling star, jimmy snuka, has been charged with murdering his girlfriend from 30 years ago. She was found in alantown, washington, 30 years ago. Police built their case partly on statements for snukas autobiography. Hes 72 and said to be in Failing Health now. Two day care workers are out of a job facing disturbing allegations a of a day care fight club. Its alleged that the two former day care workers are accused of urging children to fight and recording the fighting on video, and then they posted them online. A dozen children between the ages of 4 and 6, just fighting. Throwing each other to the ground, hitting each other. What we would like to focus on, a all the children are safe. On friday a pilot practicing for the new york air show crashed and died near a runway. In england a week earlier a vintage plane went down at a show, killing 11 people. L emergency crews trying to rescue a baby locked in a car in california got a strange but relieving surprise. Rescuers responded quickly after Oakland Police got a report about a baby trapped in a car. Once inside they discovered it was just a very realistic looking doll in a car seat. Chris and mary, back to you. Now to breaking news in new jersey. A deadly fire at the home by the shore in monmouth county, and Janelle Burrell has more in long branch. Reporter chris and mary, officials telling us that by the time they got to the scene, the flames were so big and out of control, it was nearly impossible for them to reach the people trapped inside, and right now investigators are on scene, and they are keeping us a safe distance from the house. 245 joleen avenue. You can see how badly the home was damaged this is happening after midnight, and again, crews said by the time they got here, the flames were out of control, and it took some time to get the flames out, but firefighters from multiple departments arriving here on the scene, and by the time they arrived, they said it was too far gone and too late for the people inside. They tried to get upstairs to the second floor, and the house was already fully involved, and they couldnt make their way past the smoke and fire, and they tried their hardest to get up to the second floor where they thought there were people, and they couldnt get up there until the fire trucks were on scene, and it happened shortly there after, and they put the fire out as quickly as they could. Reporter now begin this morning, officials confirming at least one person is dead, and theres likely multiple other victims at this point. No word yet on the cause of the fire. She faced a judge overnight, and ilana gold has details. Ilana . Mary, in the last few hours, Tiffany Neumann did face a judge here at manhattan criminal court. The last time she was supposed to be here, she slipped out of her handcuffs and spent the last few days on the run. I really need someone to help me. Reporter Tiffany Neumann had plenty to say when she walked out of the precinct. I broke out of the handcuffs when i was out of the hospital after they almost killed me. Reporter police say she lied about being pregnant after a weekend arrest claiming she need medical attention and then took off from New York Presbyterian Hospital when a now suspended officer left her alone to use the restroom. She spent her 36 hours of freedom bar hopping and stealing. She went right to the south street sea port and spent time at the fish market. Thats where she took a credit card and cell phone there a bomb while drinking a beer. Reporter did you steal a womans credit card . I didnt steal it she left it for me. Shows her in hospital scrubs making the purchases. She bought some cigarettes and candy, and with just chatted. The guy was so blatant and he seemed to think in this day and age he couldnt get caught. Reporter this owner of the pint is fighting back against sanitation workers who tried to shake down the employees at his bar. It started on august 13th, and you can see in this Surveillance Video, the man with the Jersey City Incinerator Authority walked up to the window, demanding the employees step outside. He informed my employee his supervisor told him he could no longer pick up our recycling, but he would do so for liquor. Reporter surveillance cameras captured him once again asking for liquor in exchange for doing his job. They made it clear we would have to supply liquor for this gentleman and his entire truck on a weekly basis. Reporter the agency is not managed by the city and they said they are working to shut it down after a long history of corruption. Is. It bothers me a lot that we have a few corrupt people that mar the reputation of the city and the city that so many of us love. Reporter the city is investigating the incident.
