Those shots apparently fired inside its Community Hall where a party was hosted last night. Here is what the scene looks like earlier. What we know so far, three people struck in that gunfire. One of those people, a young man, was killed, and were injured are teenage girls with possible injuries to their heads. Now, we spoke with the man who knows someone who was inside that party last night. He, himself, heard those gunshots and deskriebs what happened next. We heard gunshots. With the precinct here, they work on their days off for extra cash alongside private security officers. Manny gomez is a former nypd officer. The detail was made so that private organizations, such as the new york yankees, et cetera, could have Uniformed Police new york city active duty Police Officers working security on their premises. Different organizations runs out. The new one requires venues to accept legal responsibility for these officers. Sources tell me Many Organizations wont do that because its too costly. That means you may in the see nypd officers the next time you go to an event. So any liability, workers compensation, disability, et cetera, goes gets passed to the officer. The nypd released a short statementing, quote, the nypd paid Detail Program remains in effect adding this was done in order to more clearly address issues of legal representation. We want to show you video of what the scene looked like earlier. Three people were struck during that gunfire, one of those people, a young man, was killed. We are learning that the two others who were injured are teenage girls with injuries to their head. We spoke with a man who knows someone who was actually inside that party last night. Cbs 2s Andrea Grimes is live where the firefighters are being treated. Andrea. Chris and mary, two of those firefighters still in Critical Condition were injured in that fire. A third nearly had his arm torn off. He was coming from queens the bronx to help out. All three remain in Critical Condition here this morning. The fouralarm fire started by kids playing with a stove, moved fast on 235th street in the wakefield section. By the end of the day, four firefighters were sent to the hospital from two separate scenes. We deal with a lot of tough things, but it was a tough day for the Fire Department. It all started when flames broke out at a home here early yesterday afternoon, spreading especially difficult and dangerous for crews trying to put it out. 51yearold firefighter joseph brady had a heart attack. 34yearold firefighter patrick morelo had severe heatstroke, both in Critical Condition. Heatstroke is a very serious injury. The mans temperature was extremely high. His heart rate was extremely high. 54yearold lieutenant joseph was treated at the hospital and released. Since so many bronx crews were at the fire scene, other companies were called to provide backup staffing. Thats how a fourth firefighter was severely hurt in a freak accident about three miles away at westchester avenue and waters place. 44yearold firefighter sean orourke nearly had his arm torn off when his truck crashed into an elevated subway beam. Was waving to warn someone and didnt see the beam. To have lifethreatening injuries, then when we are here, to have a member come in. I saw his arm and shoulder. I was very upset. New this morning, three babies in maryland tested positive for a potentially deadly bacteria. The babies were being treated at Prince Georges Hospital neonatal intensive care unit.
