Well, we should tell that you some of the snow squalls that some of are you seeing are having an effect on flights coming to and leaving from Philadelphia International airport. So just a word of warning that if you are head there had call ahead, check on your flight. Meteorologist adam Joseph Standing by to tell us where these squalls are and how quickly or not so quickly adam are they moving in the area now. Theyre moving fast like 40 miles an hour so when they hit they dont last very long they quickly reduce visibility and then they move along and then you kind of see the sun pop back out and theyre kind of scattered through the region on storm tracker6 live double scan right now. We have some snow squalls right now. You can see the deeper purples, thats where the snow is little bit heavy along 222 just to the east of kutztown and slicing right between kutztown and allentown heading towards quakertown, northern bucks county. Again moving from the northwest to the southeast at that 40 miles an hour pace. And as we look at philadelphia, we do have a little snow squall here moving over the airport right now south of route one coating the ground in spots on the grassy surfaces but just wet on the roads so were not looking at any concerns other than reduced visibility if youre driving around and a few flakes in southern new jersey near Atlantic City down to Sea Isle City and tuckahoe there along route 49 and that will quickly be off the coast in the next 10 minutes or so. As we take a look at some of the photos weve been getting in on social media, michelle sent me this from facebook from reading earlier this afternoon when that snow squall passed through and again, you can see howl it does coat those grassy surfaces but even if it coats the surfaces, more than likely its going to melt pretty quickly right after it moves along because that ground is still pretty warm after all of those above normal temperatures weve had over the last couple of weeks. 41 is your wind gust in allentown right now so you do get strong winds with these squalls as well, 31 in philadelphia, 32 miles an hour in millville, 30 in dover. Bringing those wind chills into the 20s across most of the area. 18 right now in allentown, so feeling very winter like out there and thats going to be the theme going into this weekend as well. You can see all the clouds to the north and west but once the sun sets, well lose the clouds and well lose the snow showers and snow squalls so for tonight it turns clear with that chilly breeze continuing, 19 the air temperature allentown, 23 philadelphia, 21 in millville and tomorrow those winds will also be howling out of the westnorthwest gusting at times to 35 miles an hour keeping wind chills in the teens in the morning and just 20s as we go in the afternoon but at least well have the sun on saturday. As we take a look at the four day at 4 00 forecast, 36 is your high. It will be the coldest day since february 10th around here and we only stay in the 30s also on sunday but with less wind it will feel more tolerable outside with that sun and then quickly turning milder monday, 52 degrees and then tuesday breezy, warm with a few showers around late in the day especially at 66 degrees. Action News Reporter gray hall is now live outside the school which is the Harris School in collingdale to explain. Gray. Reporter well, sharrie, police tell us that too much time passed before they were actually notified about this gun. Now theyre hoping that students with information about the weapon will help them track it down. We just want to find the gun. Reporter Collingdale Police on high alert after they learned a 13yearold and student took a gun to School Thursday morning and allegedly gave it to another student. Police found out that night after the boys mother alerted officers that her gun was missing. Friday Morning Police searched the school but they found nothing. The bottom line is we have over 900 people in harris between staff faculty and students and theres a gun somewhere. Reporter we went to the 13yearolds home but there was no answer at the door. Police say his family is cooperating but the other family involved is not. I wanted to try to have a face to face a sit down with the two boys saying look, where is the gun . Lets get this gun. That didnt work. The other boy that we believe had access or has the gun, there was steadfast were racist, were picking on them, their son has done nothing wrong. So, congrats to those men and women today. Hovering right now near the freezing mark but feels a little bit colder. Havent talked about below normal temperatures much this winter season but this is going to be one of those weekends we are going to feel it and payback time. As we take a look right now at some of those snow showers and snow squalls that are pushing through the area, you can kind of see theyre hit or miss. Some up to the north and west and some to the south and east so we first make a stop towards philadelphia here near woodbury, the connection between 295, the Atlantic City expressway, the new jersey turnpike, 55 as well, there are some of these snow showers and not a lot of pink on the radar or purple. If you see that, thats when you have a heavier burst of snow pushing through but nonetheless, seeing some flurries here and as we head, also, to the south, we are also seeing some snow showers near Atlantic City, you can see that snow squall with the purple just to the north of ocean city now heading off the coast and away from the garden state parkway. So, again, only reducing visibility if youre driving, its not accumulating on the roadways so well watch these early scattered snow squalls. The grassy surfaces, thats where we can get a quick coating if it bursts heavy enough briefly and again reduces visibility and its just a reinforcing shot of cold air thats kind of sparking these squalls. Matt here with the update. That will teach sylvia not to close the door. Good afternoon brian and sharrie. Were closing the door on this work week but getting home from it is not the easiest feat on this friday afternoon. Unfortunately no positive progress to report here along 95 in terms of the amount of traffic that can get by our major accident southbound approaching cottman avenue. There is the truck involved, theres another vehicle on its side up against the barrier that was involved. A very serious accident. Still have the three right lanes blocked and this is just stuck traffic thats getting by here in the left lane. They have blocked off all southbound lanes at woodhaven, all traffic coming out of bucks county into northeast philadelphia is being forced off onto woodhaven head toward philadelphia mills so as you can see this is creating huge delays in bucks county near street road. Thats the southbound traffic thats head toward woodhaven waiting to exit onto it. Just 4 Miles Per Hour coming down from 413 to woodhaven where, again, all southbound traffics being forced off. So, you can do that and then head over to the southbound boulevard but single digit speeds over there as well. Frankford avenue is packed with speeds in the single digits. If you can work your way into new jersey and use 130 or 295, you would be better off but that, too, is not the easiest feat because the Burlington Bristol is jammed, the turnpike connector bridge is closed. Just lots of extra time in the northeast this afternoon. Opening at the tacony palmyra bridge has wrapped up and our crash on the southbound side of the blue route near broomall is gone.
