Reporter well, matt pthe search is on this morning for the person behind this violent shooting that left a man with two gunshot wounds to his face. Just past 2 oclock this morning 19th District Police responded to reports of gunshots along the 6100 block of market street. Thats where they found a 37yearold man suffering from those of gunshot wounds to his face. That man though was and to an incident that happened earlier in the evening aroundatr was robban so he was confronting this person because of that. Take a listen had to say. Now fortunately our realtime Police Cameras did record the perpetrator running north on 62nd street from market. Hes described as a male wearing blue or dark colored clothing. Reporter now, police are on the scene right in our gathering whatever evidence they can. They are of course trying to track down this man. As for the victim, he is in the hospital, penn presbyterian suffering from those gunshot wounds. Were told he is in Critical Condition but he is expected to survive and now police have two cases that theyre investigating, both the robbery and this shooting. A gunman unleashed a barrage of bullets from the upper stores of a building in the citys Northern Liberties neighborhood. This happened yesterday evening along the 500 block of front street. A woman was getting into her car outside of the delilahs strip club and was nearly hit by the three gunshots. Investigators think the gunman fired the bullets from the fifth floor of a building across the street. This is a nice neighborhood. Ive been here ive lived in this area close to three years and theres never really usually problems like this. Some of the bullets hit the womans car. Police are not ruling out that the woman was have been the intended target. Happening today, headstones will be put right, the grounds and grass tended at a vandalized Jewish Cemetery in philadelphia. This effort is set to begin today and its expected to last about two weeks time weather permitting. Its part of the Jewish Federations effort to restore Mount Carmel Cemetery here in wissinoming. Scores of headstones were toppled over and damaged by vandals in february by frankford and cheltenham. Today work begins to complete the restoration. Gravestone matters cemetery preservation and conservation expert joe farini will oversee the work in cooperation with the were National ParkService Northeast Regional office. The work to restore downed stones repair fencing and install additional lighting. Volunteers pitched in to help in that whatever way they could. The Jewish Federation of greater philadelphia helped organize a spring cleanup of the cemetery. They created an inventory of the condition of the stones, they raised money. Now whats going to happen is small teams of volunteers and paid workers will get to work. Theyll prep stones for resetting or repair broken stones and were hearing that some local Union Members are also donating several days of their time to help in this effort. Theres a little cell closer to the river and the i95 corridor and then out to the west another batch coming can up through gettysburg and baltimore and its going to be off and on rain today all the way. As we take a look outside, we have sky6 at the airport and you can see theres a little bit of patchy fog out there around the airport and a lot of you are going to encounter that this morning. Its not quite as thick as it was yesterday so no dense fog advisory outside of coastal areas around ocean county. The southerly flow will stop about maybe 20, 30, 40 miles south of philadelphia so in the city, 50 degrees by 10 oclock, 56 by noon, 62 by 3 oclock with a high of 63 degrees by 4 oclock. Now, if youre down in wilmington or dover, some areas farther to the south, youre liable to see the upper 60s this afternoon. Conversely up in the northern suburbs like allentown and here we show it to you, youre probably stuck in the upper 50s. Same thing in trenton. So 60 in reading, 68 in wilmington, 63 in philadelphia, 64 in millville, 68 in dover and right down by the ocean water where you still are getting that southerly flow and even in a. C. Where youre starting to get the easterly flow that cool ocean water is going to cool you down into the 50s. In terms of what top expect today, well scattered showers and thunderstorms obviously they wont be coming down all the time. Not a total washout today but heavy rain with any thunderstorm is possible and again 50s up to the north, 60s to the south and the farther south and west you go from the philadelphia area the warmer it will be today. Then tomorrow front gets out of here. The sun comes back. Maybe a few patchy clouds but it looks pretty bright, a high of 64 degrees and a little bit breezy but a better day 7day forecast, today were probably stuck around 63 in philadelphia with an occasional shower and thunderstorm. A deal to replace lead pipes in flint, michigan will go before a judge for final approval today. The state is agreeing to set aside up to 97 million and where dollars for repairs. 18,000 pipes and water lines will be replaced over the next three years. The project is part of a sweeping deal to settle a lawsuit by residents who were exposed to contaminated tap water.
