kenosha... now police are on the hunt for the person who drove that stolen s-u-v into a pond this morning. as pete zervakis reports... it touched off a frantic response... and left behind a mess. a semi driver making a delivery spotted the suv almost fully retention pond about 5:30 this morning fire fighters responded to the scene near this meijer store at 77th and green bay. the vehicle in the pond was reported stolen yesterday. as we arrived we could still see the headlights on so from past experience it would be a very short period of time it was in the water worried someone might still be in the water... the kenosha county dive team searched below the surface. there was a whole bunch of cop cars, fire trucks you name it the already divers didn't find any victimsa tow truck pulled the car out. car gushing water but battalion chief matt haerter says gas spilled into the pond. so a hazmat team worked to clean off divers as they emerged. these tubes are being used to soak up the fuel. essentially soaks it up like a sponge without being waterlogged it only takes the petroleum parts of the pollution haerter says it's lucky the pond's is low. if crews can absorb all the gas before it rains... it should prevent further contamination. we're fortunate because the water isn't flowing out of the pondnow that the pond has been cleared this case is in the hands of the kenosha police dept. in kenosha..pz... tmj4 officers are working with the nearby meijer store to see if there's surveillance video that can help them determine who stole the vehicle and how it ended up in the water. after drowning at the washington park swimming pool. the pool was closed at the time... but police say christopher taylor and several of his friends hopped the fence. the medical examiner's report says taylor had just smoked marijuana prior to breaking into the pool. once in the pool, he started to struggle. an officer pulled him out and started c-p-r... but it was too late. the victim's girlfriend told police he didn't know how to swim. a milwaukee man charged with drowning his three-month-old son pleaded not guilty today. an murder. police say the 25-year- old drowned his son in northridge lakes following an argument with the boy's mother. traffic is once again moving on the freeway system this afternoon following some major accidents this morning. at one point, two lanes of traffic were closed at national for an accident.all northbound lanes were closed at hampton on the north side for another accident.city streets were also congested with people trying to find an
