So if you are getting ready to step out the front door and you go southbound on i95 this morning you are going to have to go to the next interchange down in Delaware County and flip that uturn and come back the opposite way. Wait to go see how serious the injuries are to the tractortrailer driver. I dont believe at this moment there is any other vehicles involved. But again, it is the ramp from 95 south to go north on 476. The vine street expressway still closed in center city. Mass transit, remember, septa, and patco, both kicked in new schedules over the weekend of we had a lot of complaint, and a lot of frustrated passengers, hoping that new schedule would have helped with the late trains. The victim managed to escape. Police say she was grabbed, snatched, shoved into her own car by two men. Frightening ordeal. Thankfully police were tipped off about the entire thing. Now they are hunting for additional suspect. Lets get out, steve keeley at Police Headquarters this morning to break this all down. Steve . Reporter police are at the rounds house say the best kind of tip call about a crime is one not after it happens and who did it but before it happens and who is going to do it. That will was the case here right in prime time last night. Our video shows you emory street, which runs right under i95 in the Port Richmond section between the girard and allegheny exits. What happens is the Police Undercover narcotics agents, that is, with the Philadelphia Police department, get a tip call that a group of people are going to abduct a woman who is working at a strip mall right off aramingo avenue. And it goes down just as everybody tipped them off it was going to go down. And they watch these people pull up in a jeep. They watch this poor woman, 25 years old, get out of work from the store, walk to her car, which is this toyota camry with the dark tinted windows. She gets close to her car, two guys come out of the jeep, force her into the back seat of her own car and they take off. So the cops decide to follow the emory obviously, let the jeep go for that moment, and call for back up. The emory crashes, blows out it front driver side tires, hit a curb, they chase one guy, make arrest, get the girl out of the back seat safely. They figure this is all related to previous crimes with home invasions. Twentyfive year old female victim, once abducted she had just exited her place of employment. And while she was heading to her vehicle, that is when these two males grabbed her and forced her into the back seat of her own vehicle. She was not injured. She was shaken up. She can understand. But she was not injured. When they grabbed this feel mail, they obviously new who she was because they threatened her, saying that they had her children. And so they get the jeep, and guy and a girl in the jeep. I should say a woman, making it sound like it is a little girl, but it is an adult woman and a man, they believe, were in the jeep who to took off as they recover the jeep. More investigate to go do, obviously, couple of people to nab, at least, many as many as four more people, as they sort all of this out. But that 25 year old lady, lucky for two things, one, somebody found out about this crime and told police about it before it happened and they got some good cops here who watched it happen and reacted real swiftly and professionally and got that woman home safely. You can see police had the flares all across the roadway, and then it pushes you into a real thin two lane stretch of i95, heading down toward the Commodore Barry bridge. Now, police are trying to find the suspect who were involved in this attempted kidnapping. Lets get out to steve keeley over Police Headquarters to explain in this one. Police, steve, do police think that she new these attackers . Reporter they dont know. What they do know is that the attackers, the kidnappers, told her that they had her kids and that turned out to be not true. She is okay. Her kids are okay. This happened in a real prominent spot. Even if you dont live around here, you probably have seen the shopping center. Lets go to the video. It is the Port Richmond village shopping center, has got the iga, supermarket in there, right across from 24 hour planet fitness, right off girard avenue exit of 95, real busy spot. And it happened in prime time. Somebody new something was about to go down and told undercover narcotics detectives just minutes beforehand that this 25 year old woman was about to get off work, and a group of people in a red Jeep Cherokee were going to kidnap her. And not only did they tell them about a red Jeep Cherokee, and at the exact time, they even had the license plate of the Jeep Cherokee, accurate, timely, even a perfect license plate number down to the numbers and letters, and that is what happened. The narcotics detectives were sitting in that parking lot, that Jeep Cherokee showed up, and they watched it all go down. When the police initially got information, they were told that the abductors were going to be in a red Jeep Cherokee. And they had the tag number. When police went to the location, and the 2400 block of aramingo, they saw the red Jeep Cherokee, enter the parking lot, and thats when they ghana quick surveillance. They saw about four, five people in this red cherokee. They saw two males exit the cherokee, and thats when the two males forced the 25 year old female, into her own vehicle. So, they didnt have whole team of cops over there, just couple of detective. They decided to follow her own vehicle, which is this now smashed up toyota camry, that her kidnappers crashed, right under 95 here on emory street, not too far away from the scene, as they tried to get away from the police. Once they new they were being tailed. That jeep, red Jeep Cherokee, by the way, found just 20 minutes, just few blocks later, of course, everybody inside ran out. It is registered outside of philadelphia detectives, now help from outside Police Department in the suburbs, theyre now sitting and watching that address, it is registered to, to see if the rest of the kidnapping crew shows up, comes or goes out that far house. Now, they know there was a woman and a man spotted in the front seat to that. Maybe another guy in the back seat. So that means, there is still at least four people out there. So, karen, that may be why this woman doesnt know who kidnapped her, because they may have got away, and they just had two guys that didnt know her yank her into her own car, and try to kidnap her. What this is all about . She is not some millionaire obviously, she works in retail at the Port Richmond village square. But she may have some knowledge about some home invasions apparently, thats what this crime may be linked to. So they may be solving whole bunch of crimes by solving this one.
