ST. LOUIS – SIU sophomore center fielder
Tristan Peters was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Peters went 10-for-15 (.667) with two doubles, a homer, 7 RBIs, 7 runs scored and 4 stolen bases in leading SIU to a 4-0 week.
Peters slash line for the week was .667/.722/1.000, and all four games were multi-hit games. He reached base at least three times in all four games of the week.
On the season, Peters is hitting 21-for-45 (.467) and slashing .467/.547/.667. He has three doubles, two homers, 12 RBIs, 15 runs scored, and six stolen bases, and he has not committed an error. He has hit in 10 of SIU’s 11 games, including an active nine-game hitting streak that he carried through SIU’s weekend sweep of UT Martin. In 11 games this season, Peters has eight multi-hit games.
