The afternoon of Thursday 29 April was warm in Istanbul, the kind of sunny day that confirmed spring had finally sprung in Turkey’s capital city.
The 17-day shutdown has confined the public to their homes with the sole exceptions of going to the closest market or commuting directly to and from work (if you qualify as a required worker).
