Lisa Molomot, the film's co-director and an adjunct professor in the
School of Theatre, Film and Television, says it was important to her to highlight the families suffering at the border.
"Most people in Texas, even, don't know what's going on in Brooks County, so I can imagine that no one else in the United States really knows what's going on," Molomot said. "We went to Brooks County on 15 different trips in the hopes of getting these real moments, because we really didn't want to tell people what was going on in Brooks County, we wanted to show them, and we wanted them to experience what was really going on there."
