All over but the counting: Republican delegates cast ballots for statewide November ticket
Counting begins Sunday and could last into the middle of the week. Two hopefuls with local ties are among the crowded field for the top spot.

Delegates cast their ballots for the statewide Republican ticket Saturday, and now the counting of those ballots begins.
All seven of the GOP candidates for governor expressed thanks to their supporters Saturday afternoon as polling places at 39 locations across Virginia shut down at 4 p.m., the first phase of an "unassembled convention" spread out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The second phase of the convention begins at 1 p.m. Sunday as state Republican officials start tallying the results — a process that is expected to take several days since tens of thousands of ballots were cast.
