Fine. Skyforce10 and our Traffic Cameras have been providing pictures from the accident scene all morning long. I spoke to Delaware State Police. They says one person has died four others injured. Right now the state Police Collision reconstruction unit is on the scene. Its all because two vehicles crashed before 7 00 on the southbound side of i495 near route 13. One of the cars overturned. As of last check, all southbound lanes are closed. I asked police to share more about this accident, the ages sexes of those injured as well as the person whos deceased. I also asked if the driver was the person who was killed. And state police said theyll have more information later in afternoon. In the next 30 minutes, ill be back in touch with police to find out whats happening now on the highway. Live from along route 13 in delaware Monique Braxton, nbc10 news. Thank you. Nbc10 first alert traffic reporter jessica is watching the traffic in that area. We are seeing a massive backup behind the scene. Some small improvements. Right now were looking at 495 arent route 13. Were just a few moments ago we had traffic blocked off on the southbound side and diverted off at route 13. Now you can see they relieved that and cars are traveling through the area. Your best bet to get around the scene, you can take route 13. That will have some backup because the last hour or so they had all traffic being diverted off. Your next best bet is to take i95 to get through the area. Three people are dead after a string of shootings in philadelphia. Two shootings happened in kensington. One in West Kensington the other in tacony. The kensington happened at ses cue howard street. He is expected to recover. Police believe he is the innocent victim of a stray bullet. A man in his late 20s was shot in the middle of colona street. Police blocked off the street for several hours while they gathered information. 90 minutes earlier there was another shooting on north howard street. That happened just before midnight. Police say the gunman approached a man sitting along the sidewalk outside his home. They had an argument the gunman open fire and killed the victim. The third deadly shooting happened in the tacony section of philadelphia. Someone shooting and killing a man before 1 30 this morning. Police have not made any arrests in any of these shootings so far. Take a look at this video of a shooting at the dollar store. Police say a man placed a stocking over his face and demanded money from a worker at the Family Dollar store on castor avenue on july 12th. The man ran away with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt. The robber in this video used a clear plastic bag to cover his head while he held up a Dunkin Donuts on south oregon avenue in south philadelphia on july 6th. He was armed with a knife as he took money from the cash box. Police got these images of the man before he went inside. You may be able to see something to give you a clue as to his identity. If so call police. A correctional officer is back home this morning after authority say an inmate stabbed him last night. Skyforce10 was over the correctional fa sill after they put the facility on lockdown. The officer was released from the hospital last night. No word that led to the stabbing but the inmate accused is matthew early. He and his brother captured on this video fired a gunshot on a septa train in 2012. That prison is the same prison that pope francis will visit when he comes to philadelphia in september. Nbc10s matt delucia will give us an inside look at what the pope will see. A visit to a nude beach near miami turns dangerous when lightning strikes hitting three people. Minutes earlier, officials just closed the beach due to weather. Two victims were in the water when the lightning hit the water. One swimmer went into cardiac arrest. Another was shocked unconscious. A third person collapsed on the beach. All three recovering this morning. Smoke is still pouring from a warehouse fire in middlesex county. 36 hours after this all started. Video from a couple hours ago. 150 firefighters have been working to completely extinguish the fire. This is in north brunswick. We just received these photos of the fire as it was burning yesterday morning. Look at those billowing smoke clouds there. Give youing you some perspective how massive the fire was. The epa has hazmat teams testing the air quality but says its likely most of those toxic chemicals have dispersed. This is video of what it look the like yesterday morning. Flames and black smoke rising into the air. It forced the evacuation into nearby apartment buildings. Those people could be allowed back home this afternoon. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Out west. Firefighters put to the test by this fire in napa county. Mandatory Evacuations Ordered for the area. 150 structures are threatened. Officials think a Traffic Accident sparked the fire, which quickly spread thanks to strong winds and dry conditions. Its rugged, terrain and difficult to access. Police in oklahoma have a young mab and teenager in custody after five of their relatives were found dead inside a home. Officers found the victims stabbed to death following an open 911 call. That means someone dialed 911 but then didnt speak. The victims include adults and children. Theyre all related. Two other children were found in the home. One is in stable but serious condition. The other wasnt hurt at all. Two males, 18 and 16yearolds they are arrested soon after the discovery. No word yet on how they are related to the victims. And the penalty phase of the james holmes murder trial is now in its second day. Jurors today hearing testimony in a centennial colorado, courtroom courtroom. Right now theyre hearing that testimony to see if he should be executed or sentenced to life in prison. He was found guilty last week in the firstdegree murder of shooting 12 people at an aurora colorado Movie Theater in 2012. The director of the fbi says isis is a bigger threat to the u. S. Than al qaeda. Nbc Kristin Welker shows us why the director says the Extremist Group is such a threat. Isil is not your parents al qaeda. Its a very different model. By virtue of that model, its currently the threat were worrying about in the homeland most of all. Reporter thats fbi director james comey telling an audience at Aspen Security Forum on wednesday that isis has become a bigger threat to the United States than al qaeda. Isis radicalization efforts have been effective, reaching thousands of americans through social media, urging followers who cant travel to the middle east to kill where you are. Officials have captured a number of radicalized americans over the last week. They include some of those who were planning attacks during the july 4th holiday. Critics have akutsed the administration of underplaying the isis threat in the past. As recently as last september, Senior Intelligence officials were downplaying the groups capacity to attack the u. S. But earlier this month, president obama held a press conference on the growing isis threat. This will not be quick. This is a longterm campaign. Isil is opportunistic and nimble. Well today theres new information in the bill cosby scandal. The comedian could have to testify under oath again in a lawsuit from a woman claiming he molested her at the replyboy mansion in 1974. That woman was 15 years old at the sim. Cosby said under oath in an earlier deposition he obtained drugs to give to women who he wanted to have sex with. Happening later today the president leaves for kenya, the birthplace of his father. Kenyan victims of the 1998 bombing of the u. S. Embassy in nairobi are asking for financial consideration ahead of the president s visit. A man who lost his sight in that attack visited the scene. Talk to us about im speechless. There are so many great pictures in here. Talk to me about some of the pictures. The pictures tell the story of philadelphia television. It was amazing the people who i found who i didnt even know, who invited me into their homes invited me into their businesses to give me these old pictures. Were looking as you talk. Sherri banks, vai sikahema. But you go back to the early days. This is picture is interesting. Brian williams on the right who worked here as a reporter about 25 years ago. Oh, no. We can skip through that picture. With tim lake and john. That was the news show. Wow. Because you, like so many people, are a big part of philadelphia tv history. This is a picture of the bill bennett show from the 60s on back lot. Thats in montana for a show called action in the afternoon. And that took place in our parking lot. Whats now a parking lot. Our floor director, former floor director, used to tell us about some of the things that happened here. I have a picture of ray in the book from the early 60s. So many people let me have their personal photos from many many decades ago and many havent been seen in decades. Thats the exciting thing, is letting people see these pictures from channel 10 and all the stations. You cover all the stations, which is so beautiful about this book. And its clear youve done so much work. What were some of the surprises you tame across. I was really surprised we all know a lot of people who have come through philadelphia in the middle of their careers or started their careers. Brian williams, ed mcmahon matt lauer, here at channel 10. So many people along the way. Ernie kovacs who went on to a national star, started at channel 3. Who else . David brenner, well known comedian. He was a producer at channel 3. Well show some more pictures while you talk because the book is such a great catalog of tv in philadelphia. In is where we are right now. This is a great picture because were sitting right in front of those windows, right on the other side of those windows. That picture was taken on dedication day in 1952 in this very studio. It was a lobby at time. Thats the original channel 10 building at 1622 chestnut street. Back to this picture. Were heading back to center city in a few years from now. Talk to me about what youve seen as the evolution of television. You start from the beginning. One of the interesting things is television the technology sxised in the 20s. I guy did experiments at franklin institute. He went to work for filco. His work led to the first commercial television station in philadelphia. Which was on channel 3, on the dial. Then world war ii came along. Nobody made television sets. It wasnt until after the war when television took off as we know it. Even though the technology was is there. The Technology Technology was there, but it took until after the war to start television. In the 60s uhs came along. Everybody had tvs but nobody had uhf. The fc mandated to all the tv makers, you have to have uhf. That was the birth of uhf as we know it. Wow. So much history.
