A limited number of tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon on the agencys web site and at certain stations. You must have one of these passes to board on Atlantic City or river line trains on september 26th and the 27th. Both lines will have limited service on those days. Chopper six was over the wreckage near the lily high creek. The plane went down after 11 oclock this morning west of i78 an faa official says this was an experimental plane but they dont yet know why it crashed. The pilot was the only person on board and medics say he was conscious when he went to the hospital. Were still working to learn his name and just how badly that person was injured. A small earthquake shook part of new jersey early this morning. The u. S. Geological survey said the quake had a magnitude of 2. 7 which is classified as minor. It hit about 2 miles north of bernardsville. There are no reports of any damage. The us sgs got 78 reports from people who said they felt it. The eagles will take the field on sunday for their first preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts but today we learned several key players will not suit up with the rest of the birds. Yeah, sharrie, eagles fans that want to see sam bradford make his debut in a and eagles uniform youre going to have to wait until next saturday. Sam bradford will not play in the preseason opener sunday against the colts at home. Mark sanchez will start tim tebow and matt barclay will see extensive time at the quarterback position. Eagles head coach chip kelly says the Coaching Staff wrestled with the decision whether or not to play sam bradford. Ultimately clip decided to keep him on the sidelines. Basically the whole way from the Delaware Service area up to 295 and then 295 is at a crawl over into new jersey. Adding insult to injury if youre coming out of new jersey theres a crash on the southbound new jersey turnpike approaching route 40. Bottling things up there. And then you continue to be slow across the span of the delaware Memorial Bridge, and like you said, its going to be happening the next couple of weekends, its been happening for awhile, a lane out in each direction on the dmb. In delco blue route 476, southbound was already jammed and then there was a crash here on the southbound lanes by the route one media bypass taking out the left lane and part of the right lane. When a woman spotted her photo online and sent her an email claiming to be her mom. Well, today we learned the two have confirmed their relationship through dna testing. Wow. You look at a scene like this you feel like summer can last forever but then you look at a statistic like this and its a reality check. Have you noticed that the sun is setting earlier and earlier . It has been for the past several weeks and tonight our sun will be setting at 7 59, the first night since may 5th when the sun will be setting before 8 oclock, a sign that fall is just around the corner but the falllike temperatures are out of here. This accident happened in the southbound lanes on route 130 and at this point we are being told because of this fire and this crash, lanes are closed in both ways between wynnewood road and andover roads. As you can see this fire is burning as we watch now this car on fire from the crash. Were told one person has been hospitalized as this happened this afternoon. Now were told the driver of the car apparently hit a power pole here in the area and was able to get out on their own. Then person was taken to our lady of Lourdes Hospital for what were described as nonlifethreatening injuries, but boy, what a scene there on route 130 as that car is still in flames. And it does not appear at this point as though there are First Responders on the scene just yet or have not determined that its safe enough to approach that car given the presence of power lines in the area. But again, route 130 closed in both directions right now between wynnewood road and andover road in Cinnaminson Burlington county. Local veterans powered pass their disabilities to complete the first portion of the Wounded Warrior soldier ride this morning. The action cam was in south philadelphia as they took off from the novacare complex. Veterans will bike 40 miles over the next the weekend as parts avenue three day retreat focused on healing and camaraderie. Wounded warrior organizers say the ride is meant to help veterans dealing with lost limbs and chronic pain. And now to another look at our breaking news this afternoon. First responders are on the scene but are working to make sure those lines are safe before approaching that car and extinguishing that fire. Were being told that a person was driving along route 130 when they crashed into a utility pole and the vehicle then burst into flames, also knocking down some of the power lines in the area. You can see that the downed wires. At this point we dont see any firefighters or Emergency Personnel getting too close to this as we presume that they have some concerns of safety for themselves with these power lines that are down. But we want to let you know that this affecting traffic in this area, cinnaminson new jersey along route 130. Were being told that 130 is closed both directions between wynnewood road and andover road. As for the person who was inside this vehicle they were taken to the hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. So that person is said to be okay. But again, this fire still happening as this car is burning. It is affecting traffic in both ways. Of course we will bring you more information as we get it here during the 4 oclock newscast. Now to Montgomery County where authorities are looking for a postal prowler. Someone has apparently been stealing from mailboxes in towamencin township leaving residents vulnerable to Identity Theft or even worse. Action News Reporter vernon odom is live for us at one of the areas that have been impacted in the neighborhood there. Vern, whats the latest . Reporter sharrie, its known as one of the rawest forms of i. D. Theft. Its done right here at curbside. Thats your mailbox right on your curb. Residential mailboxes in towamencin a lot of them were hit hard overnight earlier this week. Thieves stole outgoing mail placed in the box for pick up and delivery by the postal service. At least nine boxes have been targeted according to police. Identity theft in its rawest form. Theyre looking for any kind of identification, credit card numbers, people give gift cards and birthday cards things like that. Thats what they look for, checks, youre paying your bills by check, now they got your identifying numbers. Reporter this rash of mailbox thefts was uncovered when neighbors found the discarded envelopes of other residents in a trash barrel. Police are warning township residents to check their Bank Statements and credit card accounts to ensure that fraudulent purchases or cash withdrawals have not been made against their accounts. Weve identified about nine victims so far but there could be others out there. Because if youre putting mail out youre not going to know until wherever you were sending it doesnt show up. Reporter local residents david bowers now checks his accounts every day after what he believers was a similar case of i. D. Theft six months ago. Someone stole his i. D. And wrote a check for more than 2,000. Thank god, you know, i got it in time but i had to change my checking account, i had to get all new checks, high to notify everybody who was i had to notify everybody gets paid monthly. Reporter another neighbor says hes been on guard for this kind of rip off. I try to put the mail out for the day. If its a big check ill take it up to the post office. Police are looking for a man who stole a van filled with prescription drugs from outside a West Philadelphia pharmacy. The suspect took the vehicle at 57th and chestnut just after 10 30 this morning. He later crashed it at 42nd and girard and bailed on foot. Investigators recovered the van but were unable to find the thief. Its unclear at this point if he took any of the drugs inside. Police in toms river say this new jersey mom was caught driving drunk with her sixyearold child in the car. 37yearold Jennifer Hyman crashed her jeep into another vehicle on bay avenue tuesday night. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt but after the crash authorities allege that hyman attempted to kick the Police Officer who put her in handcuffs. She is now charged with dwi, resisting arrest and child neglect. Well, police need your help finding a burglar who literally slipped past security in south philadelphia. Cameras captured the nimble thief scooting under the gate outside of the namsung bakery along the 1600 block of washington avenue last movement he apparently waited for a bread delivery before making his move. Once inside police say he cleaned out the register, stole the tip jar and then took off. Detectives are also looking for a thief with happy feet. Watch this. Surveillance video shows a couple walking into the on tray byon restaurant back on july 26. As the woman uses the bathroom, the man shuffles spins over to a strangers purse. Seconds later he grabs her wallet and dances away while stuffing it under his shirt. If you recognize the suspect in this theft inside the bakery, call philadelphia police. Perhaps you just recognize his dance moves. 122 cats and kittens are being treater at the spca in north philadelphia today all of those felines rescued from a home in henryville. Authorities say the owners had planned to open a shelter but were unable to keep up with the rapid reproduction. Most of the rescued cats are less than four months old. Some of them have already recovered enough to be adopted. And thats good news. Yeah. A good home for them. Thats the reason why you have to get your animals spayed and neutered. Neutered, right. Lets go live on sky6 taking a look at the scene in center city and look at that sunshine. Its 86 degrees. The dewpoints are higher than yesterday. Yesterday we had dewpoints in the upper 40s and low 50s. 57 degrees. But still thats pretty low for this time of the year so the humidity really not a factor. The heat index matches the air temperature of 86 degrees with winds out of the southwest at 9 Miles Per Hour. Cape may on the beach looking beautiful out there. 78 degrees with winds out of the southsouthwest at 13 Miles Per Hour. And the ocean temperature 76 degrees and if you are heading to the shore this weekend, wow, enjoy it. The weather will be beautiful and the water temperatures pretty warm right along the coast about 76 degrees in Atlantic City and the bay near llewes 78 degrees. The bay near cape may, the water temperature is 80 degrees and the water will be a great place to be this weekend because heat wave number four begins. Preparing for the popes visit to philadelphia has created quite the frenzy with talks of high security and major road closures but leaders of the church hope the real essence of faith and spirituality is not lost in the hustle and bustle. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott has the story. Reporter with next months visit approaching philadelphia is preparing for the popes presence at the cathedral basilica and around the city. We want to see him. You want to see him in person. You want to feel the energy. Reporter catholics have been making their own spiritual preparations, taking time to focus on the values that drive their faith. Its an exercise, not unlike a physical exercise where you train your body. Well, were challenged today to train our minds, too. We really understand this to be a deeply transformative event. In order for transformation to happen we have to approach the thing with a heart thats ready and so thats the reason for the preparations. Even though the pope is coming to us copely says its something to think of this as something akin to a pilgrimage. She encourages people not to getawayed down by the closures and restrictions but instead think about the intentions they want to offer for their pilgrimage as they travel to see pope francis. We can make this journey on behalf of others and it gives it meaning so it makes the difficulties that i think all of us are kind of like oh my goodness more faceable. We begin with a developing story out of burlington county, new jersey where a car fire has shut down a portion of the route one make that route 130 in cinnaminson. Chopper 6hd is live over the scene in the southbound lanes near the cinnaminson motor lodge. Police say a vehicle hit a utility pole here, then burst into flames. The pole fell onto the road as well. The flames are out now. The car is just smoking but were told one person was taken from the scene to a nearby hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. We want to show you what it looked like a bit earlier when the car was visibly covered in flames. Again, this is in the southbound lanes of route 130 in cinnaminson and route 130 is closed in both directions between wynnewood road and andover road.
