Lets look outside and get things started. You see how the fog is hanging on out here. We will see sunshine into the mid morning hours. The dense fog advisory is until 10 00. Then we will get a few more clouds in the afternoon. We should keep it dry through the evening hours but then showers are on the approach from the south and west as we head into the evening. Its currently 64 in lees berg, frederick, 72 in Downtown Washington, 62 in westminster. There is that reduced visibility to quarter mile in leesburg and two in winchester. I will talk about heating up in the work week in the first alert sevenday forecast. We are following several breaking stories. A cab driver was shot on hill mar drive in District Heights maryland and police are looking for a man and a young woman with a baby in connection with the incident. The cab driver was taken to the hospital. We do not have details on his condition. Dc police say four were shot and one was killed on the 2600 block of Douglas Place in southeast in the berry farm section shortly after 11 00 p. M. Three other males suffered nonlife threatening injuries. Also dc police are at the scene of another shooting. After 6 00 this Morning Police received a report of shots fired in the 2300 block of green street in southeast. Officers found an adult male unconscious suffering from at least one gunshot wound. When we get more information well bring it to you. A discarded firework may be to blame for a house fire in louden county. We will look at the scene in stone ridge. Around midnight, firefighters were battling the two alarm blaze. Those who lived at the house and the neighbors surrounding them were not able to return to their homes. The cause of the fire does remain under investigation though. Ten people were injured when their boat exploded. It happened around 6 00 p. M. At the spring cove marina on solomons island. The 38foot cabin cruiser was fueling at the dock when an unknown source ignited the boat. All ten were taken to nearby hospitals and there is no word on the extent of the injuries. Developing news out of Atlantic City where a fire broke out on the boardwalk late saturday during fourth of july celebrations. This video was captured by an eyewitness. No one was injured. We are hoping to learn more about the extent of the damage and the cause. Police are searching for a suspect in an early afternoon fatal stabbing at the noma metro station. A man was stabbed before 1 30 yesterday afternoon and they think the incident may be connected to some sort of robbery. The name of the victim is not being released. The noma station was closed but it is open again. A leesburg man is in Critical Condition after being shot multiple times friday night. This was on rhonda avenue. The suspect remained on the scene and is identified as Jacob Timothy kinsley. A Memorial Service is today for one of the students killed in a car crash. Lee and Alexander Merk were killed when car driven by 18 year old sam ellis crashed in north potomac. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. You can see the rain on the approach on satellite and radar. There is a little bit of rotation here. This is whats called a short wave. Its going to make its arrival as we head into the overnight hours. We are still dry through the day today and then here come the showers making their approach in the evening. Tomorrow well see more prevalent showers and maybe even thunderstorms as this short wave continues to rotate through the metro area from the afternoon through the evening. Thats when we have the best potential of course for thunderstorms. It clears out tuesday but then because of heat and humidity in place we will see isolated thunderstorms. We are right back to the pattern with the showers and storms and high of 86. On tuesday all the way up to 92 with the threat for an isolated storm. Thanks. 14 people were hurt, some critical, after a deck collapsed in North Carolina saturday. The family dropped more than ten feet to the ground. The deck gave way at a home on emerald isle as a family was getting in place for a picture. One was flown to the hospital and two others are in Critical Condition. The cause of the collapse is not known. Emerald isle is on a Barrier Island not far from the Marine Corps Training facility. Beach goers in california were running for their lives but not because of a shark. The threat this time came from the sky. A small plane towing advertising banner crashed into the beach in San Diego County saturday. The single engine plane lost power after take off and had to crash land in the sand. A fire explosion at a boat sent 10 people to the hospital. It happened around 6 00 p. M. In the spring cove marina on solomons island. Police say a 38foot cabin cruiser was at the fueling dock when an unknown source ignited the vessel. All ten were taken to nearby hospitals. We dont know the extent of injuries. A cab driver was shot in hill mar drive in District Heights maryland. Police are now looking for a man and a young woman with a baby in connection with this incident. The cab driver was taken to the hospital. There are no details on his condition. Five shootings overnight in the district. D. C. Police say four people were shot and one killed in the 2600 block of Douglas Place in southeast in the berry farms section. Shortly after 11 00 p. M. Three other males had nonlife threatening injuries. Police are on the scene of another shooting. Sometime after 6 00 this Morning Police received a report of shots fired in the 2300 block of green street southeast. Officers found an adult male unconscious suffering from at least one gunshot wound. On the fourth of july a fire broke out on Atlantic City boardwalk during some of the celebrations. Fatal stabbing in the middle of the day at a busy metro stop. Police are searching for a suspect in the stabbing which happened saturday afternoon at the noma station. The victim was an adult man and the stabbing may be related to a robbery. The name of the victim has not been released. A Memorial Service today for one of the Wootton High School students killed in a car crash recently. Friends and family of calvin lee will gather in rock ville this afternoon to remember the teenager. Lee and Alexander Merk were killed in a car driven by 18 year old sam ellis. They crashed in north potomac. Ellis is injured but is expected to survive. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash. A familys snapshot ended before it started. In North Carolina 14 people were sent to the hospital after a deck they were on gave way. The family was getting in place for a picture when the deck collapsed and they plummeted to the ground. One patient was flown to the hospital and two others are in Critical Condition. The cause of the collapse is not known. A small plane towing an advertising banner crashed into the beach in San Diego County saturday. The single engine plane lost power after take off and crashed into the sand. The pilot was not injured but a teen on the beach was treated for minor injuries.
