A pivotal event took place during June 2021, paving the
way forward for Whānau Āwhina Plunket to play its part in
levelling the playing field for all pēpi and tamariki in
Aotearoa.
Whānau Āwhina Plunket clinical leaders
went back to Puketeraki Marae in Karitāne, the place where
the organisation began in 1907, to understand how the
organisation can better meet the needs of whānau Māori and
how its staff can support pro-equity through their own work.
During this three day Noho Marae, a line was drawn in the
sand for Whānau Āwhina Plunket to step up and ‘own’

bring the seed of an idea to the collaborators and develop
it into a full blown full show.”

The team behind Hurunui’s alpine thermal pool complex
have gained national recognition for their determination to
keep trading in order to support the region amidst the
pandemic.
Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa has
today been announced as a finalist in the 100% Pure New
Zealand Experience Awards 2021. The awards celebrate those
who “demonstrate commitment towards their people,
community and place through their actions”.
Hanmer
Springs Thermal Pools and Spa general manager Graeme Abbot
says the announcement marks a real win after the events of
the past 18 months.

There are no cases of COVID-19 to report in the community
in New Zealand today.
There are 18 cases of COVID-19
to report at the border since the Ministry’s last update
yesterday – five in recent returnees and 13 from the
Viking Bay vessel, announced earlier today.
Eight
previously reported cases have now recovered and the number
of active cases in New Zealand is 43.
Three previously
reported cases, from 25 and 26 June, have now been deemed as
historical.
Since 1 January 2021, there have been 90
historical cases, out of a total of 614 cases.
The
seven-day rolling average of new cases detected at the
