The political atmosphere regional satraps Mamata Banerjee, M K Stalin and Pinarayi Vijayan emerging victorious against the Modi-Shah offensive at full throttle – is ripe for another regional satrap and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to pursue his dream of cobbling up the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party forces with himself as nucleus. Telangana recorded 7,430 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, a marginal drop from the previous day’s 7,754 cases.
Over the past three days, around 77,000 samples are being examined on a daily basis, keeping the cases in the 7,400-7,800 range. From April 8-24, over 1 lakh tests were being conducted per day. The highest of 10,122 infections were detected on April 26 when 99,638 samples were tested.
On April 28, Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao claimed that the second wave was “stabilising” and the next three to four weeks were crucial to bring the situation under control. This led to doubts among people on how it was stabilising without many people observing COVID-appropriate behaviour and in the absence of any restriction on movement.

Telangana posts 7,754 COVID-19 cases, 51 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana’s coronavirus tally surpassed 4.35 lakh as 7,754 fresh caseswere recorded while the toll stood at 2,312 with 51 more casualties.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 1507, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 630 and Rangareddy 544, a government bulletin said on Saturday providing details as of 8 PM on April 30.
The total number of cumulative cases in the state stood at 4,43,360 and with 6,542 patients being cured, the total recoveries were 3,62,160.
The state has 78,888 active cases and nearly 78,000 samples were tested on Friday.
Cumulatively, over 1.29 crore samples have been tested.
The Telangana government has requested the Centre for enhanced allocation of Covid vaccines and oxygen to the state.Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has written to the government seeking more vaccines and higher allocation of oxygen.The top .
