Area senior dances
Senior dances will be 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the Waukenabo Town Hall with music by Jerry B.; and 1-4 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Deerwood Legion with music by Two For The Road.
Sunday dance planned at Backus American Legion
BACKUS Monthly Sunday dances return to the Backus American Legion July 18, when Frankie Lamb’s Frankly Country Band appears from 2 to 5 p.m.
Playing classic country, pop, old time and swing, the band makes its first appearance of the summer that Sunday and then will return for afternoon dances Aug. 15, during the Backus Corn Fest weekend, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17 and New Year’s Eve.
Six Naperville area students attend 2021 AAUW National Conference for College Women Student Leaders Jennifer Brown-Griffin

The American Association of University Women-Naperville Area recently recognized six college women sponsored by the branch to participate in the AAUW National Conference of College Women Student Leaders held virtually on May 25-26. These high-potential women were recommended for the honor by Benedictine University and North Central College administrators.
Hundreds of college women from around the country met for two days of leadership training, inspiration and networking.
Brittney Cooper, Associate Professor of Women s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers University, keynoted.
