Updated Coronavirus in Cornwall round up: Tuesday, January 26 - seven further deaths The number of deaths in Cornwall s hospitals involving patients testing positive for Covid-19 has risen. A further seven hospital deaths have been recorded in the county in today s (Tuesday, January 26) update. Seven people have died at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, bringing the total number of deaths relating to the virus in the Trust s hospitals to 128. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust hospitals remains at 39. It brings the total number of deaths relating to the virus in Cornwall s hospitals to 167. It means 33 Covid-related deaths in Cornwall s hospitals have been reported since last Wednesday (January 20).

Coronavirus in Cornwall round up: Monday, January 25

The latest Covid-19 case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has also now been updated. As of 4pm today (Monday, January 25) there have been 105 new cases in the region recorded in the previous 24 hours. The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 11,582. There were 1,157 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to January 20. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete. This represents a weekly rate of 202.3 cases per 100,000 people. The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has also increased by 22,195 in 24 hours.

Coronavirus in Cornwall: Saturday, January 23

The latest Covid-19 case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated. As of 4pm today (Saturday, January 23) there have been 143 new cases recorded in the previous 24 hours. The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 11,333. There were 1,354 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to January 18. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete. This represents a weekly rate of 236.8 cases per 100,000 people. The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has also increased by 33,552 in 24 hours.

Coronavirus in Cornwall: Thursday, January 21

Three more people have died from coronavirus in Cornwall s hospitals. This brings the total of hospital deaths in the county involving patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 to 149. Today s data from NHS England states that two further deaths were recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust on January 19, which brings the total number of people to have died in the Trust s hospitals to 113. There has been one further death at the Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust, on January 19, bringing the total to 36. The overall total number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 255 recorded in the 28 days after a positive test result.
