A staff member at the Quinte West branch of the YMCA has tested positive for COVID-19.
In an online update posted on Tuesday night, the YMCA of Central East Ontario said the positive case is a result of close contact with a family member. Contact tracing has started, the YMCA is working with Hastings Prince Edward Public Health and the City of Quinte West, to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
The health unit said the risk to the public is low – The investigation continues and additional cleaning and safety protocols are taking place. For the latest COVID-19 data, contact the health unit.

Health officials are asking residents of highly infected Grey-Lockdown and Red-Control zones in the Greater Toronto Area not to travel to less-infected zones to do their Christmas shopping at retail outlets and malls open in safer areas.
But judging by the number of cars seen in Belleville with Toronto-area car dealership plates and stickers indicating travel from Oakville to Scarborough, it would appear some Christmas shoppers may not be heeding provincial warnings.
