With a single-day spike of 39,796 new Covid-19 infections, India s total number of cases rose to 3,05,85,229, while the death toll climbed to 4,02,728 with 723 more fatalities, the lowest in around 88 days, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The active cases have further reduced to 4,82,071 and comprise 1.58 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid recovery rate has surged to 97.11 per cent, the data updated at 8 am read.
. NEW DELHI: India on Monday reported 39,796 daily new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, pushing the country s total tally to 30,585,229, according to data from the Union health ministry at 9am. This is second time in a week when the daily new cases have gone below 40,000 mark. On June 29, the country reported 37,566 new Covid cases.
In last 24 hours, 723 more people lost their lives to Covid. The total death toll stands at 4,02,728.
With 42,352 more people recovering in the last 24 hours, daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for 53rd consecutive day. The total recoveries have surged to 29,700,430, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the active caseload has further declined to 4,82,071. It constitutes merely 1.55% of total infections.
