An exhibition which celebrates the Blues’ exploits in Europe opens at the Town Hall Galleries on Saturday.
Ipswich Town in Europe marks the 30th anniversary of the club’s 1981 UEFA Cup triumph.
The exhibition starts with Town’s European Cup campaign in 1962, goes through to the Sir Bobby Robson era in the 1970s and 1980s and then on to the two-season return to Europe a decade ago
The collection of memorabilia and photographs which normally adorn the walls of Portman Road will be displayed in the Ipswich Town Hall Galleries in partnership with Colchester and Ipswich Museums and Ipswich Borough Council.

Long awaited plans for a new Travelodge in central Ipswich have been uploaded to the council s planning portal.
If approved, the 100-room hotel would be built in the squared section of the former Office Outlet and Better Gym car park, next to the Suffolk County Council offices at Endeavour House.

Blues new co-owner Mark Detmer envisages cross-pollination between Town and the Three Lions’ USL Championship side Phoenix Rising which could see friendlies played between the two, players perhaps moving from one club to the other, coaches sharing ideas and maybe even fans making transatlantic trips to lend their support.

New Blues co-owner Mark Detmer says the involvement of chairman Mike O’Leary and incoming CEO Mark Ashton are vital to executing their vision for Town.
