Coast Guard Hoists New England Fisherman With Chest Pains
The U.S. Coast Guard was at it again, this time 35 miles east of Nantucket.
This past Sunday afternoon at 12:50, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England Command Center were notified by the captain of the 80 foot fishing vessel, Mariner, that a 45 year-old crewmen was experiencing chest pains.
The Coast Guard duty Flight Surgeon was consulted and then suggested a medevac as there were concerns that the crewman s condition could worsen if left untreated.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew left Coast Guard Airstation Cape Cod and flew the 35 some miles east of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and eventually hoisted the ailing crewmen from the Mariner aboard. The weather on the water during the operation yesterday consisted of 4 foot seas and 20 mph winds.
