Survivor Says She Didn t Get A Fair Hearing After Rapist Sentenced To 3 Years

By: Augusta McDonnell OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Oklahoma - A rape survivor spoke out Friday saying she does not feel her case was settled fairly in Oklahoma County court.  Aleece Cooper was 15 when she was assaulted by her wrestling coach.  “There is not a single day where I don’t think about it, because it was so traumatic, because I was a 15-year-old girl,” she said. Aleece Cooper is now 19 years old. “It affects a lot of things, especially with like, relationships, because it’s just nerve-wracking that anybody can do that,” she said.  Patrick John Luhm pleaded guilty on Wednesday to first-degree rape by instrumentation and felony soliciting sexual conduct with a minor in a deal with prosecutors.

Three OKC police officers cleared in shootings, jail hostage incident

Oklahoman The Oklahoma County District Attorney emailed letters to Oklahoma City s police chief clearing three officers from wrongdoing in two separate shootings, including a hostage incident at the Oklahoma County jail in March. Officers Coy Gilbert and Kevin Kuhlman, according to DA David Prater s email, shot and killed Curtis Montrell Williams, who can be seen on bodycam footage holding a makeshift knife to a jail employee s neck, on March 27. Prater told chief Wade Gourley in an email the investigation of Gilbert and Kuhlman was comprehensive and well done, and that the officers actions were commendable. It is abundantly clear from the evidence that had not Gilbert and Kuhlman reacted quickly, Misquez was likely to have suffered great bodily harm or death at the hands of Williams, Prater said in the email.
