COVID-19 second wave scare: KSOU Bhavan building to remain with District Administration

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Administration has decided to keep under its control the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Academic Bhavan Building on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road for sometime in wake of reports of second wave of
COVID-19 pandemic.
This building was taken over by the District Administration when Corona positive cases rocked the city and district, and had converted it into COVID Care Centre (CCC). Since then, this building had been under the control of District Administration. With no patient at the Centre, thanks to sharp decline in Corona positive cases, the whole building had been sanitised and fumigated to keep it ready for use in case of second wave.

JobKart India, has organised ‘KSOU Virtual JobKart,’ an online Job Fair from Mar. 15 to 22.
Addressing a press meet at KSOU premises here this morning, KSOU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Vidyashankar said that Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan has been invited for the inauguration and added that more than 100 companies across the State will be participating in the online job fair.
Pointing out that KSOU is not only limited to provide education but would also take care of employment by organising job fairs, Prof. Vidyashankar said that skill development training will also be provided to the unemployed so that they would have better chances in employment.

N.R. Constituency needs Maharani’s College to educate poor and minority community girls: Pratap Simha
Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP
Pratap Simha has urged Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who also holds the Higher Education portfolio, to sanction another Maharani’s College in Narasimharaja (N.R.) Constituency in addition to the existing one in Chamaraja Constituency.
Submitting a memorandum to the Minister, the MP also urged the Minister to set up a Coding Academy and Incubation Centre in the campus of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru.
The MP said that the establishment of another Maharani’s College in N.R. Constituency would provide education to thousands of girls who come from minority community and poor backgrounds.
