County accepting requests for Mobile Vaccination Team home visits

By Kathy Chouteau Are you or a loved one unable to leave your Contra Costa County home to visit a vaccination site? If so, Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) can help; its Health Services Department is currently collecting the names of people requiring a home visit from its Mobile Vaccination Team. “Homebound residents or their caregivers can fill out this form to request to have the CCHS Mobile Vaccine Team go to their homes,” stated CCHS on its website. Currently, CCHS is accepting requests, but not scheduling home visits yet. They estimate they will begin contacting people to schedule home visits on Mon., May 17. To request an appointment, complete this online form, which can be submitted by an individual or his/her caregiver, or call 1-833-829-2626.

According to a staff report, the Public Safety for Mental Health Pilot Project is a comprehensive plan to respond to mental health emergencies in San Ramon. It s a partnership between local fire and emergency medical workers, law enforcement and Contra Costa Health Services to be leaders in an effective solution for those experiencing a mental health crisis.

By Kathy Chouteau An appointment is no longer necessary to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at county-run vaccination sites, according to Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS). Those age 16 or older can also receive a vaccination in Contra Costa County whether or not they reside here and they can also choose whether they want a one-dose or two-dose vaccine at county sites. “We are doing everything we can to remove barriers and make it as convenient and easy as possible for people to get vaccinated,” said Supervisor Diane Burgis, chair of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. “Vaccines don’t just protect your health they give peace of mind and let us be with our friend and families without worrying.”
